Info on Greenville please...
Yoders is an Amish eatery with a small store attached where home made goods direct from Amish country in Pa are sold. It's about 10 miles from my house. I have not been there recently . They have also opened a restaurant in the heart of the old section of New Bern. It serves breakfast and lunch.

Oh yeah. They do know how to make the most decadent desserts! I love their country store! I was out tonight in my back yard looking at the stars. The stars are so much brighter in the country.

Hi, I am sure any competent real estate agent can assist you in your search for housing. I tried to reply to your private message, but I must not have the appropriate status on this forum as I keep getting a notice that prevents me from replying. Best of luck to you. Abbi

I live near Vanceboro, less than 12 miles from the Pitt county line. It's about a 30 to 35minute commute to PCMH, 20 to Beaufort Memorial and 15 minutes to Craven Regional. I like being out in the country, low taxes, great neighbors who can grow the best vegetables and plenty of space.

The skills exam is the PBDS. It was designed to determine a level of competency and to be used as a tool to adjust or tweak skills as needed to meet the Hospital's needs or requirements. It was designed by Dorothy Del Bueno. The bad news is that Pitt uses it as a tool to weed out any one who does not test well. I urge you to research this site to read and gain first hand knowledge from those who have taken the skills test. A google search of PBDS will also give you lots of information. I do not and have not ever worked at Pitt. However, I have heard bad things about Pitt as well as just about every other hospital in NC. Not every unit is a good fit. I encourage you to use all your skills and intuition during your interview to discern what is best for you. I currently work at CRMC. This hospital has it's issues too. I am reluctant to speak of this as we have been told that management reads these and other boards. Best of luck to you.

Be prepared to take a skills entrance exam. I think it's called the PBDS. If you search this site you will find a few stories and tips . I live 12 miles from Pitt County in Craven County. I am 17 minutes from Craven Regional Medical center, 20 minutes from Beaufort Hospital in Washington, NC and 35 minutes from PCH in Greenville. Perhaps I can help when it comes to relocating. I currently work at CRMC.

CFCC LPN ACCEPTANCE
Glad to help. My daughter drove from Gorden road each day and it wasn't too bad. If I can ever sell my home where I am at now, I'd be happy to tutor you. I really liked it, and like the faculty.

CFCC LPN ACCEPTANCE
Hi Blitz, Have you considered Brunswick Community College? It's a 20 minute drive and in the past had a very short waiting list. My daughter tried to get into CFCC, and after several years wait, decided to try BCC and got right in. I was very pleased with their program. Of course I held a skills lab and weekly review in my den every Saturday and believe it or not, I enjoyed the review. Best of luck in your future in Nursing.

Hospitals cutting back??
Our unit manager called a mandatory staff meeting today to basically tell us we should all be grateful we have jobs. She cited the rationale that the hospital is loosing money as our patients are not paying their bills due to job loss, insurance loss and the economy. She stated that we will be asked to do more and carry a heavier workload and they will note who does and does not complain. I felt traumatized by the end of the meeting. Has anyone else been told such as this??
