Im stressed. At orientation they told us we will allneed to go on to your bsn after this. They also said that the nurses who already have jobs with an associates are safe. I just dont want to waste any time, im no spring chicken!:)

Hi all. I've been accepted into the CSN Fall 2011 nursing program. From the rumors I've been hearing around, an associates degree is pretty much useless now. I do have a bachelors in Kinesiology from UNLV, that I was told a few years ago would give me a leg up in the job market....but now I don't think it matters. Should I drop this program before I start it??? I 'm so disappointed, I finally felt like I was "IN" the program and safe. Now I feel like I'm wasting time and should apply to Nevada State College for the BSN. What do you think?

I spoke with an advisor last week. He told me they are accepting around 21 points average every year....so you will be just fine! I was surprised, I thought it would be much harder :)

I looked into the accelerated program, and it would take me longer than the associates. I would need to take a few more pre req's--2 chemistry classes. It also requires a B average on the science courses, and I have a few C+'s in there....so I'd need to retake those. I'll look into it again though. Thanks :)

Have any of you utilized the childcare at CSN? What do you think of it? I just went to tour it today. I'm not completely sold on it. It's a great price, but it seemed a bit dingy to me. The teacher was very nice though. I'm kind of torn. I put in my daughter's application...she'll be turning 2 in 9 months. They said she'll probably get in one year from now. Part of me is just being too attached I guess...I can't bear the thought of leaving her anywhere!

Does anyone know how many times per year Touro starts the nursing program? I know one starts in July...what about after that? Thanks

Here's my situation....I have a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from UNLV. Would it be in my best interest to get another bachelor's in nursing, or would an associates be fine, since I already have the bachelors in a health field? I do plan to specialize and move up, but I'm thinking I will be able to do that as long as I have a bachelor's degree in some health related field along with the associates. Any advice greatly appreciated

I had to drop it the first time I tried, it was too hard. I really liked the teacher who taught when I took it the second time. AND, I passed. Good luck....anatomy and physiology are super hard and time consuming.

ANy recommendations for 223? Has anyone taken it before? I've taken this class before, but it's expired. I remember it being extremely difficult....but also largely depended on the teacher. The one instructor I wanted wasn't an option :) Thanks!

I'm in the same boat---trying to decide which route to take. It looks like part time is only one semester longer...because you would take summer school too. Summer school is very time consuming, so that lessens the appeal of part time. I have 2 kids, 4 and 1. I'm thinking of putting my daughter in the CSN childcare when she turns 2. Do you like it? What's the cost? Is it a good program? THanks :)
