i have seen a couple threads on the site regarding UNLVs FNP program but not much in terms of feedback as to how the program actually is, does anyone have any info about the program? admission process, application process, can you still work full time if so for how long, how are the clinicals setup, amount of students accepted? thanks in advance guys!

LPN first it seems
I just completed my bridge program this past semester at CSN, and i completed my LPN program at CSN as well, i was in somewhat of the same predicament as you but chose to do the LPN because bridging over is better in terms of far less applicants than the regular program to have to compete with. If you can get your BSN for sure by 2015 as opposed to being an LPN by 2015 then, i'd say BSN. Otherwise LPN and bridge over you can already get some "nursing experience" if your able to work through school and then do the ADN-BSN route at NSC after.

Equivalent courses between NSC and CSN for RN to BSN?
ok so here is my question, i know its still another year out but im looking to get into the RN to BSN program at NSC after i complete my ADN at CSN, and from what i can tell regarding the program at NSC i have a good amount of the pre-reqs completed including my chems and my math but im lacking in Psych and Nutrtion, i was thinking of taking nutrition and psych in this summer at CSN to knock those out of the way, however the classes at CSN dont match up!? can anyone shed some light on whats equivalent? the classes i need are PSY 201- Development Across the Lifespan PSY 210-Statistical Methods NUTR 223-Principles of Nutrition thanks in advance!

Kaplans ADN program ???
I had looked into this program prior into getting into the bridge at CSN, if i had not gotten in i wouldve went this route the only downside is the cost of the program but Kaplan is a solid proven program all over the country plus there LPN program here in nevada is solid as well

Applied for Extended RN program at CSN/ Fall Sem 2012. Need experienced input please.
not meaning to sound like a drag but honestly study groups in this program are kind of a waste of time, studying is best done on your own and then maybe setting up a meet with a student or two the day before the exam, but its so hard to get something set up half the time because of everyones busy schedule IMO, but best of luck to you when you get in =)

Is becoming an LPN here still worth it?
http://sites.csn.edu/health/nursing/lpncurric.pdf just did a double check so ya 4 semesters (2 years) CSN cost: looks like 5k http://sites.csn.edu/health/nursing/lpncareerguide.pdf Kaplan (1 year) cost: $36-40k huge difference between the two...there is no way i could pay that much

Is becoming an LPN here still worth it?
i completed the LPN program in 10' at CSN and have worked a year and am doing the bridge program this coming spring, and i had the exact same feeling you had in regards to needing to "get into something" and obviously completing this program and then having your pre reqs completed will spring board you into the bridge program for sure. you are right though in terms of starting sal per hour, LPNs in LTC and in Rehab(im working at one now) get that much to start if your a new grad but really not much more even with experience(im working with people who have been LPNs for 25 years only making a few bucks more than me), id say its worth it still (if you find a place that allows for overtime and your motivated to work, the money is pretty good) but I would recommend doing the bridge or some form of bridge in the future. The Lpn program at CSN is a great one and its proven the only problem is that its 4 semesters, but costs way less than Kaplan which i think is 1year at 36k(screw that!) hope this helps a little, best of luck to you
