Is it unreasonable for me to refuse to stay over after working a 12.5 hour shift at a long term care facility due to inadequate staffing? I just started a new job and was informed by my nurse partner that her and I take turns staying over on the Saturday of our 3 day work weekend due to they have no one to come in and do the pm med pass. I went to the don about this and she said it's true. This would mean not leaving the facility till around 10 pm and having to drive home and get back up at 4 am and be back at work by 6:45 to work another 12.5 hour day. Thanks for any input.
  2. Hi, anyone with experience doing kaplan RN review then taking boards? Did you think kaplan was harder. I'm scoring in the 50's and a few 60's with one 69 on qbanks. Any feedback greatly appreciated😊

Lol it is......they should come in their nightshirts because that's another problem some sleep at night....smh Farawyn we have timesheets...no timeclock and at night at shift change no supervisors are there.

Just wanted some opinions on this to know if I'm over reacting. I work dayshift and the nightshirt nurses are always late. I've informed my DON several months ago but it still cont's which means I have to stay late until they arrive to work but the nightshirt nurses always leave on time because we have adequate staff. My question to you all is......the other morning in our meeting I brought it up in front of several day and nightshirt nurses along with our HSA who is the number one person in our medical department. One nurse who is late every night got very angry and called me a ghetto snitch and had to be escorted out of the room by the HSA. She also looked as though she wanted to come at me in an aggressive manner. I let it go but the more I've thought about it the more upset I get because I was told by my HSA just to avoid her when she comes in and the only reason she got mad was she knew I was right. I think she should be fired.
  5. Nothing at all wrong with this email. I work with so many sloppy nurses whose uniforms are wrinkled, long nails and a just overall unprofessional appearance.

I haven't even had any algebra. I do have almost all of my pre reqs except algebra and chemisty. Been saving them for last. Did not take them in high because they were not a requirement then. Going to take a pre-algrebra in the summer before I retest. Thanks so much for the comment.
  7. Going for my lpn to rn. Failed the math section on the teas twice. Please tell me I'm not the only one. Math is EVIL. I can do nursing math fine. Algebra and that other crap is another story.

Trying to get accepted in the lpn to rn bridge program. I took the teas and passed all but the math. I took it today for the second time and failed again. Anyone out there had the same experience? I hate math and very weak in it. Can do nursing math fine. Only lack 3 of my pre req and algebra is one of them. I'm thinking I need to take a remedial math and then my algebra. After that then retake the teas. Thanks in advance for any comments.
  9. did u think the exams were hard. ive been a lpn for 7 years. do u think that will be to my advantage? i plan on buying the practice exams. was the cpne as hard as everyone make it out to be?
  10. help me out here lunah if u would. in what order did u take your exams and when did u schedule your cpne? how long was the wait for the cpne? i am studying lifespan psych. right now. what would u do if u was me. there is a waiting list for the lpn-rn in my area. i think i can do this but what worries me is the cpne waiting list and then what if i fail the first time. confused as to what to do.
