I am so frustrated when I look through the paper for a job and find that every hospital that advertises want RN's. I am going to get my RN as soon as I graduate (next month), but is there anywhere I can go besides the nursing homes to work in the mea...
It is NOT your fault! These companies now are really getting in over their heads. They say there is a nursing shortage but I truly don't beleive there is. Most of the nurses out there are either burned out completely due to the nonsense of caring for...

This is EXACTLY what I was thinking! What a JERK! This agency you work for is very unprofessional! They should have sat down with you and had case conference on each of these patients you took on so you would know something about them. I can't stand ...
Thank you for replyin ganeese. I am having no trouble with getting a job at the nursing homes but I would rather be in the hospital setting. I may look into the Dr's office. CD
Definitely get an NCLEX book to study! My teacher is actually thinking of making it a requirement that next years class gets one at the beginning of the year. Everything you will learn in school comes from these books. You will get a head start on w...
I am in Nursing school right now and stressed to the max! My husband and I are having problems, I feel like I have no time for my kids, and I have so much school work to get done by Monday that I don't see how I am going to do it. Ugh! I can see now ...
Thank you all so much for the advice! I am going to stick it out and wait a few months after school before making a major decision such as divorce. Thanks, lvn2004:cool:
I just started school last Monday and have been fighting off the cold bug, I caught in class, since Friday. I hope this is the only thing I will catch this year. If we miss one day of class, we've missed out on a lot
Have you made flash cards? We have a test next Tuesday over this and I made flash cards and have written it down several times. Others in my class say they have learned it one line at a time. Best of luck to you :)

Hello all! What a great idea to start this forum. I love it! I live in Ellis county, about 22 miles south of downtown Dallas. I will be starting school next Monday and can't wait! :)
When I went to my orientation the instructors gave us a list of some reading assignments that will be given out the first week of school. It's optional to read them ahead of time but highly advisable so you have an edge up on things. I've started doi...
I haven't started school yet but I would like to go into either L&D or Geriatrics. I had a friend who graduated a couple years ago and her mind changed several times in school before she finally decided what area she wanted to be in. I've always ...
This is what I am worried about as well. I have an 8 year old and a 17 month old. I am going to start out studying around 8 p.m. when I put them both to bed and see how that works. I will be in school all day so this is really the only time I will ha...
I haven't even begun nursing school yet and can only imagine how bad this will be when I get out and persue a nursing career. The nurse at my son's Dr.'s office said that it's so bad that if he were to be diagnosed with something and say I wasn't sur...
I am having a hard time sleeping as well. I keep thinking so much to do, so little time & money to get it all done. I hope once I get it all taken care of I will have time to take a breather and enjoy the rest of the summer :)
Hi, I am really excited and can't wait to start! I will be very busy until then so it will be here quickly. I have to get my books next week, take the CPR course, get TB shot and buy my kids school clothes. My son and I are both anxious to go back to...
Hi MOONIELOVE, I just received my book list and we have 15 books to buy that will cost us about $600-$700. You can get them on campus or order them from Amazon or majorsbooks.com. I would check to see if there is a majors around your area and buy the...
