  1. I just found it out today at the ca brn website. Yeh!
  2. YEAH. I TOOK THE NCLEX RN LAST MARC 3 AND MADE IT WITH 75 QUESTIONS ONLY. THANK YOU GUYS. IM SO SO HAPPY NOW! :clpty::clpty::clpty::clpty:
  3. i do see your point. well, i'm using kaplan and saunders so i would stick on the review materials that i'm using. i know that varicella virus (chicken pox), tb, rubeola virus (measles), disseminated herpes zoster requires airborne precautions. however, if your going to scrutinize how the cdc stated the list of infectious diseases, it has been said the "varicella virus (chicken pox)", not varicella zoster" which in my opinion is another type of disease - well, that's my assumption because on saunders comprehensive review for the nclex rn, 4th edition, page, 192, "skin infections such as cutaneous diptheria, herpes simplex, impetigo, pediculosis, scabies, staph, and varicella zoster - are listed on contact precautions." in connection, on kaplan's practice test and even saunders, including exam cram - it is categorized to contact prec. however, it is a fact that the agent of chicken pox is - varicella-zoster virus. so i dont know how to sum it up.
  4. hmmm... varicella zoster requires contact precautions - it's stated on saunders and even in kaplan's qbank. disseminated herpes zoster is the one that necessitates airborne precautions.
  5. Your welcome. Hmmm... If you have saunders compre review 4th ed - you can browse about the precautions, page 191-192. Some of the common diseases are also exemplified but not as sufficient though. I learned most of the diseases and its precautions on Kaplan's Qbank - rationale. Goodluck dude!
  6. GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US THAT ARE YET TO TAKE THE EXAM. I FEEL FRUSTRATED MYSELF BECAUSE IM DONE WITH MY REVIEW BUT I STILL HAVE 7 DAYS LEFT BEFORE THE EXAM AND I DONT KNOW HOW TO SPEND MY TIME WISELY. WELL, WE JUST HAVE TO MAKE THE RIGHT DECISIONS FOR OURSELVES I GUESS. REMEMBER GUYS, WE ARE WHO WE CHOOSE TO BE. HEHE. I'LL PRAY FOR YOU. WE CAN MAKE THIS. I KNOW WE CAN. WE'RE ALMOST THERE JUST ONE STEP BEHIND OUR DREAMS.:nmbrn:
  7. Well, hmmm... with the precaution what I do is attributing unique characteristics to each of these mentioned precautions. Below are the elaborations. standard prec - you have to use gloves or the needed PPE when in contact with the client including the articles. Airborne prec - Always wear mask; room should be closed at all times. Droplet prec - what I remember with this one is kinda similar with airborne which is wear mask at all times, however, room doesnt need to be closed as long as 3 feet (im not sure if its 3 or 6 feet) is observed then transmission is at lowest risk. contact prec - of course wear your gown, gloves etc. (I guess, mask is not really that needed.) MRSA: contact Croup: contact Influenza: droplet TB: airborne AIDS:Standard or Universal precaution similar with HIV and Hep B (This means, that these diseases are not transferred by casual contact.) I HOPE I HAVE HELPED YOU OUT. BUT TRY TO DO YOUR RESEARCH ALSO TO VERIFY MY INFOS.
  8. WOw! Congratulations! I guess, you've done great with the exam. I dont know how it goes with the question-thingy but I have a feeling that you've made it. I feel the confidence on your post.
  9. Hi, I'll be taking the NCLEX RN this 3rd of March. Good Luck. I'll pray for you guys.
  10. RSV necessitates droplet precautions according to the Qbank of Kaplan. In connection, Saunders Compre Review for NCLEX RN, 4th ed, page 459, stated that "Respiratory Synctial Virus, although not airborne, is higly communicable and is usually transferred by DIRECT CONTACT with respiratory secretions." Thus, it requires contact precaution. Correct me if I misunderstood the information. Thanks.
  11. RSV requires contact precautions, not droplet. -source: Kaplan
  12. im sorry suzzane... yeah the question i posted is not actually the actual nclex question. what i was trying to disseminate to the reader was that the exam has blood compatibility type of questions which have been made a little complicated like including the rh type in it. that's the common ground that i wanted to establish in addition to other source of questions.
  13. i have rescheduled my exam on march 3, i just felt that i am not ready for the 20th month of feb. my friend failed the exam so i got scared. and lots of questions on infection control, prio and delegation. post has been edited. anything that is on the nclex exam is not to be discussed here and that is per the board that handles the exam. it is grounds for actually having results cancelled out by them. posting a question and its choices is most definitely not permitted. other issue is that your friend signed a document before she even started the exam stating that she would not discuss specifics of what was on her exam. exam questions rotate thru all of the time, there is a test bank of 2500 questions, your chances of getting any of them are quite slim that she had. suzanne4
  14. Hehe. That was nice avomejet. Thanks!
  15. Good luck to everyone who is planning to take this Feb. I'll be taking mine this Feb 20 and it'll be my second time. Im using kaplan's Qbank and Exam Cram Practice quetions which has the trademark of pearson. The questions provided on the exam cram is of the same difficulty with Kaplan. Anyway, Goodluck to us...
