Pearsonvue Trick Is this TRUE? Does it work every time?
So i took the test yesterday in OKlahoma at 8:00 I got cut off at 75, and my friend got cut off at 130, so I found about this trick and we both tried it, we both got the pop up, but im still freaking out, it does help with some anxiety, but in the back of your mind, it's always "what if", so hopefully its true, from all the posts it seems to work.

Needle stick injury HELP!!
The scissors had been soaking in a solution called PD 64 and it is (i think) a high level disinfectant. I was just worried because there were about 15 instruments soaking in the solution with these scissors. The Dr. I was working with told me that nothing would live in it, but it's just the thought that freaks me out!

Needle stick injury HELP!!
I was recently stuck by a pair of scissors that came from a suture kit. I am an er tech and part of my "responsibity" is to put the non disposable instruments in water and disinfectant and scrub them and prepare them for sterilization. Well the scissors that I was poked with (in the thumb) had been in the solution well over 8 hours probably more like 12 to 24 hours but I was scrubbing the scissors with a little scrub brush and my hand slipped causing me to poke myself in the thumb! As I was cleaning the darn things I noticed there was no blood or anything on the scissors that I could see but i was thinking to myself how bad it would suck to stick myself and them BAM out of nowhere my hand slipped and I poked myself. I had to do all the testing that is required , but the thing that sucks is that it was an unknown source so Im freaking out not knowing what to do! I just wanna cry. How long can viruses, bacteria live in water/disinfectant? I am so scared i wanna cry. Can anyone give me any advice?

Dirty needle stick...and I'm 20 weeks pregnant...
I am an ER tech in a small hospital and one of our duties is to scrub the suture kits that have been used previously, they usually put them in this basin of water with disinfectant to let them soak and then I go in and scrub them with a brush and put them in packages to prepare them for sterilization. Then other night I was cleaning a pair of scissors and my hand slipped and it poked me in the finger! I was so scared!! I went and told the other nurses and filled out my incident report and didi all the blood tests and have to do them until 6 months. I didn't see any blood on the scissors as I was scrubbing them with the brush so I am so very upset about the whole ordeal and just cant get over it. Im so depressed! Can hiv survive in water since it is fluid? Im so scared.

Needle stick injury in Health Care
Im a nursing student and I also work in the ER as a tech. One of my responsibilities is to clean instruments that have been used for suture removal or for suturing itself. After the dr. is finished we place our non disposable instruments in water that has disinfectant in it. I was in the process of scrubbing some scissors that had been soaking in the water no less than 8 hours and my hand slipped and poked thru my glove causing me to bleed! Im very freaked by this accident because I have no idea who these scissors were used on and if any viruses can stay on objects in water and disinfectant. So I kinda know what your going thru. Did you do the hospitals protocol for sticks?

question about RSU
I just recently finished my 1st year of nursing school at RSU and it is fabulous!! You can get in the program with C'S!!!! I know a couple of girls that got in with c's in dosage and c's in a&p. I don't suggest that you get c's because your the last to be chosen. I suggest All A's if possible and if not don't worry you'll get in with all b's. Try to get any A in dosage if possible but a b will do 2. Dont worry if you have b's in any of your classes I had 4 A's and 1 B and I got in and I know some that had 1 A 3 B's and 1 C and still got in. Anymore questions just ask.:nuke:

RSU nursing program
:)I am currently in the nursing program at RSU and I love it!! I just finished my 1st year and it was surprisingly not as hard as I thought it was going to be. Don't get me wrong, it's not easy, but not super difficult. I recommend that once your in the program read as much as you can, study your notes, and do NOT blow off CONCEPTS class!!!! I suggest you read for that class everything that is assigned b/c people blew that class off and flunked out b/c it's only a 1 hour class and they didnt take it seriously. Make sure you understand the case study rules and guidelines, and what your faculty is wanting. The faculty is wonderful and very helpful. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
