  1. I am an open heart recovery nurse and definitely if you had the craving for the heart and cath lab it is one of the greatest experiences to learn and knowledge you will use constantly. The heart is fascinating and each one is unique with its own specific problems....and a adrenalin rush is a sure thing - not with each case but it happens.....It sounds like something to add for you never stop learning in this field. Just don't let them keep adding more extra time - you will get it more often than not being called in on call time. Go in with a positive exciting time awaiting you. Hope your cath lab is as great as ours. We all work so well as a team player in each persons condition. Good Luck!
  2. I do get tired of the BSN person cutting my RN license down and she only makes $1.00 an hour more. And if hospitals make us go back for the BSN or threaten to cap our pay - it will really infuriate me. My experience of 13 years should account - who will go to bat for all the nurses already out there caring for these pts? We are already on a shortage crunch.....A book person - can sit at the desk - but the nurse with the pts. take their experiences forever in their heart.:heartbeat:mad:
  3. With 13 years experience and 9 in critical care/open heart recovery-Indiana is $28-$32. Many long hours and needing someone to go to bat for nurses - we have been talking about getting unionized...what does anyone think?
  4. My sister is going to be 55 this year and was diagnosed when she was 35. She is a high school teacher and never stopped working. She gives herself an injection once a week and has remained in the very first stage of MS - thanks to her doctor in Indianapolis. This specialist is known around the world and gives great lectures and mentors physicians that are going to work at mayo and cleveland clinic. Don't get me wrong - she has had incidents but realizes when she is not feeling well. Keep up with all the latest new meds and when your down reach out for others to give you strength. Life has many trials for each of us to endure - you are not alone. You will touch others in many ways that others have no idea how to start...thinking of you. :nuke:
