from Poland to Uk....
Have you thought of working the the USA. We need nurses. Good luck. You might want to get the Webster Merriam Thesaurus, it is a good tool for learning the english language with phrases along with slangs, and so on and so forth. Rosetta Stone is also a good route, check it out on the internet. Sal

Leaving A 2 year contract - HELP
If you mention about getting a lawyer, most hospitals will drop the case like a hot potato. Hospitals, we know, are extremely afraid of having to deal with lawyers. You don't really have to get a lawyer, just tell them you will have to consult your lawyer or you are thinking about it anyway. They will not want to take the time and spend the money on their lawyers just to get back money from a nurse. Their lawyers will cost more than what they will get back from you. They might call your bluff but you can call theirs first. Just don't expect a good reference unless you ask your charge nurse personally. After all, the quality of your work has nothing to do with bonuses - paid or underpaid or overpaid. Good luck. Remember family is a treasure that a lot of nurses don't have. Value and protect yours like a mama or papa bear and their cubs. SL

Travel Companies to Avoid
I have been a travel nurse for quite a few years. At all cost, AVOID American Mobile and all its children companies like Medical Express, Travel Nursing. They do not in any way care about the actual nurse, for them it is just getting you in a contract and then they leave you to hang out and dry. Their insurance sucks and so does their attitude. Some smaller companies are much more personal and attentive to the needs of a traveller. We all know that going from place to place can be adventuresome and sometimes lonely. Soliant calls me for my birthday, send me cards and give me paid time off. It took me a long time to find a company like this. They have great insurance both health, dental, etc. Good luck to all you travellers! I love it. Remember, strangers are just people you haven't met yet. Sal
