I am tired of beig a tech
Yes I am going starting my prereqs in the fall. I just don't know if I can take it anymore. It's just the same thing everyday and when some of the new grads come in they have to ask me what this and that means and I have no problem helping because it is just the right thing to do . I just can't take it too much longer I would rather go and and work somewhere totally different just for a while thanks for the response at least I know I am not the only one Peace

I am tired of beig a tech
Hey Everybody Tell me what you think..... I am a multi-skilled tech at a local hospital and I am just frustrated. I have been a MA/Tech for 10+. After having my 2nd child I decided that I would not go back to work in a hospital until I was in clinicals. I enjoy helping others and being at the bedside just not as a TECH!!!! I have worked on every unit in the hospital and I have decided what field of nursing I enjoy most I just hate being a tech it's boring and monotenous(I don't know if that is spelled right but you know what I mean) What do you all think I should do????

How can you take care of yourself?
Hi I don't know your full situation as far as kids, husband etc. but where I live the hospitals are willing to hire you and work with your school schedule(i.e 8,12 or 16 hour shifts, nights, or weekend alternative) they are so desperate for nurses that the idea of having a tech who may become a nurse is an ideal situation for them they figure if you work here while in school you will stay on as a full time nurse. So maybe looking into working in a hospital may help. When I was tech working at night most of my co-workers where nursing students who worked in the float pool and made there own schedules and had the added bonus of studying on their shift (the night shift isn't as busy as the day shift SOMETIMES) So good luck to you!!

Any stay at home moms with little ones?
Hi I am a SHM of a 2 year old & a 7 month old . I have worked as tech for years and have finally decided to go to school to become a nurse. In the fall I have to take 12 credits to get financial aid so I will take some online and the other in the evenigs when their dad gets home from work and as far as clinicals there is a CC that offers them in the evening as well. I know that it is going to be tough. but as the bible says " I can do ALL things thru Christ that strengthens me" This is and will be my mantra all thru nursing school and life. and if there are any believers out there you understand. So never give up. The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary

Do You Have To Work Med-surg??
HI I AM CURRENTLY TAKING MY PREREQS FOR THE NURSING PROGRAM. I AM A FLOAT TECH THAT IS FAMILIAR WITH THE UNITS. I HAVE ASKED A FEW EXPERIENCED NURSING AND MOST OF THEM AGREEE THAT FOR ALL AREAS OF NURSING YOU HAVE TO WORK AT LEAST 2-3 YEARS OF MED-SURG. IS THIS TRUE!!!!

Single Mom Trying To Become A Nurse
HI THIS IS MY FIRST TIME POSTING ANYTHING AND I HOPE THAT THERE IS SOMEONE WHO CAN HELP ME. I AM A NEWLY SINGLE MOM OF TWO I HAVE BEEN A PATIENT CARE TECH FOR YEARS AND AFTER THE BIRTH OF MY DAUGHTER I MADE A DECSION TO BECOME A NURSE. I AM 32 yo AND I NEED MONEY FOR SCHOOL. I JUST WANTED TO KNOW IF THERE IS ANYTHING OUT THERE BESIDES LOANS. I HAVE ENROLLED AT A COMMUNITY COLLEGE AND WILL START PREREQS IN THE FALL BUT I DON'T THINK FINANCIAL AID WILL COVER ME FOR THE ENTIRE PROGRAM BECAUSE I WILL HAVE TO WORK TO SUPPORT MY FAMILY AND YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS LESS OR NO FINANCIAL AID. I KNOW THAT THIS MESSEGE IS LONG I JUST HOPE THAT SOME ONE WILL TAKE THE TIME TO READ IT. THANKS TO ALL!!!:redbeathe
