  1. I just wanted to thank everyone for their kind advice...you all are 100% right! I guess it's just getting down to crunch time, and everyone has these "stories" to tell. Have a great day!!
  2. Hello!! I would like as much feedback as possible, as I am very nervous!! I found out earlier this month that I was accepted into the ADN program at my school...and I am ecstatic!! I have worked so hard over the last year to get all of the pre-reqs complete before beginning the program (except for 3 classes). I have been able to maintain a 4.0 GPA which has definately not been the easiest at times...I will begin the program in August and along with the beginning nursing classes I will have to take Microbiology and the lab...there is absolutely no way around it. In order to enter the second sem. of nursing school that class must be finished. I guess I am hearing a lot of negativity, because everyone says that taking that class with the first sem. of classes will be impossible. Is it really that bad?? I mean I know that A&P and Micro are two totally different classes...but as far as just learning a lot of material, is it really that different? and if so, what is different? I ended up with a 102 avg in A&P 1 and 105 avg in A&P2...I guess time is just counting down and I am getting nervous....any advice??
  3. I agree with some of the others....I think you should definately re-take some of the pre-req's. Nursing school is extremely competitive! I took 23 sem. hours before I applied to the ADN/RN program. My GPA is a 4.0, and it was very competitive for me, even though I did end up being accepted for this Fall. 3.5-4.0 are not really uncommon GPA's anymore.I know that at my school the minimum GPA is 2.5 (but normally it is extremely hard to get in with that low of a GPA.) If you want this bad enough go for it! Re-take some classes...work really hard and don't let anything hold you back!
  4. I actually live about an hour and 5 minutes away from Fulton...so I will be commuting a distance...It would be nice to know somebody to carpool with...lol...gas prices are only getting higher!! but I'm determined to do this...so...I guess I will just have to bite the bullet!
  5. I was so excited this past Friday to find my acceptance letter in the mail for the RN program....I will be going to ICC!! who else has received their letters and will be starting the program in August? and what school will you be attending?
  6. I understand what you mean fully!! I also discovered that I was accepted on Friday....It was soo overwhelming!! what a great feeling! When I first saw the letter in the mail box I was positive it was a rejection letter...It was just a normal school envelope...not at all what I had envisioned "The Acceptance Letter" to look like...I remember feeling a frown on my face, then instant joy as I started reading the first sentence....We are happy to inform you....I'm so excited and ready to start the program in August....good luck to everyone!!!
  7. Hello! and congrats to everyone who has worked hard this semester...those are some good grades!! This semester I took four classes: A&P 2-A A&P2 Lab-A College Algebra-A Human Growth and Dev.-A I think I am now officially considered a sophomore!! I have completed 23 sem. hours...and I'm happy to say that so far...I've been able to keep my 4.0 (Hope I can keep it up!) Good luck for everyone taking summer classes!
  8. I know what you mean...I feel like I'm on a roller coaster waiting to get off the ride....I am waiting on my acceptance/rejection letter for this fall...Isn't it amazing how negative people can be? I'm so nervous...It feels like this process has consumed me. All I want to do is get into nursing school and be the best nurse that I can be...the potential is there...I just wish I knew for sure...so I could go to school, be a nurse, and get on with my life..lol...good luck to everyone this year...I hope you all get accepted into your school of choice. At my school for the Fall semester, 750 have applied, but only 150 will actually get into the program....I'm up and down. Good Luck!
  9. Hey! thanks for the reply...those are actually the same classes that I have left to take! we have just learned what our averages are going into the finals (the week after next) I have 100.6 in A&P Lecture and 99 in Lab...100 AVG in College Algebra...and 99 in Human Growth...so I've done alright this semester...I only took 4 classes, as I take them at night (I work full-time right now) thanks for the encouragement!
  10. Hello everyone!! I am applying for the Fall ADN program at ICC this year. I have spent the last year working hard on my pre-reqs and all of the "non" nursing classes. I've managed to keep a 4.0 in the process and join Phi Theta Kappa...my only problem my ACT....I'm scared it is fixing to haunt me! I've only taken it once, and I made a 20 on it. Like most people trying to get into the program I have a lot at stake...I guess I need reassurance? I applied to NWCC and was rejected...I made 60% on the NET, 4.0, and the 20 on ACT...Although ICC has always been my first and for most choice, I felt like such a loser...being rejected is a hard blow when you know that you have tried and worked so hard...Anyway, I was wondering maybe for those of you who have been accepted, what were your scores upon acceptance? thanks for your insight!
  11. Hey!! that is EXACTLY how I feel...I wake up at night thinking about that acceptance letter, because I want it so bad...I applied to ICC also, for this Fall....I have been trying to find someone....anyone....who has applied also...just to talk. I know ICC is on a point system. I would like to know how most people who are accepted into their program fall in their rankings...anyways, It's nice to meet you, and you ARE NOT alone :)
