Any "50-ish" Pre-Nursing Students?
:loveya: Welcome, Welcome, I have been in nursing school forever.....or so it seems like it. Well I was having a heck of a time, I finished my program in August and needed to pass the end comprehensive exam (ATI) I made several attempts. On this pass Wednesday I DID IT, I passed . I am through to the next round----NCLEX in January or February. I am proud to say I turned 52 in July. Boy does this feel GOOD I am almost there. Don't get me wrong no one ever said it would be easy, but you can do it as long as YOU believe in YOU, nothing else matters!!!!!!

How do I study and pass the end of program Comprehensive test?
I have completed my RN classes and must pass the ATI exam. I am having a great deal of difficulty .I have taken the exam twice already the first time my grade was 58% the second time my grade was 68%, boy was I upset. I needed to get 71.3 to pass. The next test I was informed will be the Hesi, which I know nothing about. My school will not release me or my information to go to state boards until I pass this test. Is there anyone out there that can give me any clues?

Repeating a course?
:thankya:Personally, I would not waste my time during the course of school you will view and re-view the anatomy systems try to continually piece all the information together :dncgbby: sometimes the process will not be mastered until after the class is over or until you can see a patient with the system dysfunction. Build on that, but don't beat yourself up about it. Stay strong & forge ahead.

How old is too old?!?!?
you are never too old. :lol_hittii am a mother to 3 adult sons and a daughter of a 70 year old mother. i have been going to school for this nursing degree for a lot of years with the ultimate goal in mind to someday teach nursing. i will turn 52 in july. i will endure my last class this july-august, leadership i can not say it was easy/ or fun but it it is something i can say i wanted and i saw it through to the end. don't ever be weak, take my advice and go for the gold. when we do not realize our dreams we are to old, to dream. it is when we can follow our dreams and see them through that makes life worth living. think of the feelings of accomplishment when you have finished- and can work toward another goal!!!! :smiley_ab

surviving school without study partners
I always dreaded studying in groups because everytime we all got together I was the only one that had done the reading. which made me feel like I could have put more time in my own studying alone. The whole purpose of a study group is to aid each other in the study process of retaining information for the test. You may be able to strengthen my understanding of renal failure when I may have a stronger understanding of heart failure. Study groups have always left a bad taste in my mouth- usually because everyone does not have the same agenda.:argue:
