Yes this is true. You take the courses with them then you test out of that course at Pearson view. You can call and find out about the program.

I did the same thing. Took a pay cut, but I am much happier. I now have M-F 9-5, 5 weeks vacation, and 12 holidays, pretty much my own office. I am now a Case Manager and I love it!

You are sooooooo right! Sounds so much like my job and floor. Over worked and underpaid. The only thing is I get paid for the extra time I stay, probably because I am only part time. I could not imagine this pace full time, you would burn out. I agree 100% with you we should have a union!

I would like to become a nurse, but I don't believe in blood transfusions, getting them or giving them. That said I would never tell anyone not to get one, or say anything against the doctors order, I believe it is a personnal choice but I don't want to have to give them. I'm in nursing school now. Do you or anyone you know have this issue and if so how do they deal with it and what areas or floors can they work on? I know oncology and ortho are poor choices. I was hoping for a job where It wouldn't come up often and if it did I could get the supervisor or another nurse to do that. while I did all other care. There are so many areas of nursing a person can pursue. Do not let not wanting to give blood stop you from being a nurse, just find a field that does not give blood transfusions. If need be you can ask another nurse to give it for you and you monitor the patient.

To the class of 2010 congrats! We made it! Just wanted you all to know I too passed my Nclex, and am currently working for Northshore LIJ. I got my license on my birthday in Nov and got hired 1 month later. To all who have not found a job yet keep looking, don't stop you will get something if you persevere. To the class of 2011 keep studying yes it does get harder but you can make it!

How long after you graduated Veeb before you could apply for licensing? Did it take them a long time to send in the information?

You will get a back pack with one in it that you will carry to clinicals everyday. It has a watch, penlight, and some other things

It's not ready because the authors did an updated version of the book, if you know someone with the old one you could borrow it and at least start.

When you go to school you will be told what you qualify for, and if any how much you have to pay. In your letter you will be told when the 1st semester tuition is due.

I will be graduating on Friday Aug 13, 2010. It was tough but God saw me through! Yes I was in the bridge program. You are not to old and you will make it. Take advantage of the afterschool tutoring when you can, but especially before a test, and especially if you find yourself having trouble in a class. I did not have a study group I actually did it by myself at home. You will be fine, try different ways to study until you see what works for you. It will seem to be overwhelming but do not give up, you can make it!

You see we all tried to tell you it is a long drawn out process for some, congrats! Now from here on in keep a positive attitude and you will be successful!

Gladys I do understand your frustration, I will be graduating this Aug 13th, and yes I too was in the bridge program. See you could have tested the same day but they picked up their application before you. Example you came 10am and they came 9am, so even though you passed and they failed the school is on a first come first serve basis, and if they failed by very little that is why they where offered the bridge program. Don't give up, I know you are frustrated, anyone who has applied can tell you we all felt the same way. The fact is the people in the bridge program have seats only if they pass the retest, and yes some do not pass. There were people called the day of class to come in so keep the faith no matter what it looks like. You still have a very good chance. I hope this helps.

The people in the bridge program have seats already allotted to them if they pass the entrance exam after taking the bridge program. These are people that tested high and maybe by a few points in 1 subject fell short. I know it does not seem fair, but we have been trying to post VEEB is a first come first serve basis school, get your applications early for the best chance.

Veeb is a first come first serve basis school. If you got your application early and passed you have probably already received a letter, if you got your application early and came real close on one of the exams you were probably offered the bridge program. If you got your application late but passed you may be on a waiting list because it is a first come first serve basis. However people may not pass the bridge, people may pass the bridge and find out the first few days of orientation that they cannot make the sacrifice. There are many factors that come into play, so don't give up, especially if you haven't received anything saying sorry but we are full at this time. .

I was as anxious as you are, just about all of us where that ever started Veeb. What do you want to study? If you have already passed the test and waiting for a confirmation letter, after you receive your welcome letter you will be given a packet to study before you start. If you are in the bridge program you will receive material every day that you can study to retake the test over again. Now it would seem to me you would want to wait until you get the material before you go spending money on things you don't need. You will already need your money to get up your deposit if you don't already have it.

It is due after you pass the test. It will not be necessary unless you pass the test.
