  1. Wow! Whatever happened to compassion to other nurses?
  2. Amen! Well Said Neely 84
  3. Having a good relationship with your recruiter is a must. My first assignment was awful. I would certainly change that. They can't penalize you for something you never signed.
  4. RUN! I want to talk to them about their facility etc. Not just an interview.
  5. I have traveled to Dallas, TX. The place where I went was awful. There were a lot of foreign nurses which was fine but I could not understand them. My area is psych. I don't know how the medical center is. It's tough there. I have a really easy time getting an assignment and I am usually am gone within two weeks. I would request a small town. Good luck!
  6. I still have not left yet. Paperwork. I am supposed to be at work Monday. I am thinking of just getting a cab instead of the bus. Any ideas?
  7. I am signed up for an assignment in Dallas, Tx. I go in today to turn in final paperwork and suddenly they need another vaccine and some other things. It completely stressed me out. I am moving out of my apartment tomorrow and putting it all in storage. What is the normal moving bonus. Mine was 250.00. I had to pay for my own hepatitis booster out of that. Is it always like this?
  8. I have the travel figured out. They put me in a hotel close to the hospital and the dart system. I am already booked on it for Monday,
  9. I have been a nurse since I was nineteen years old. I was taken long breaks from it at times due to stress. To me, it is a calling, not so much a passion. I love being a nurse. I just hate all of the BS that goes a long with it. Not enough time, staffing etc. I have finally found my place in psych. When a patient makes progress and does really well. It makes it all worthwhile.
  10. I Plan to buy one as soon as I make enough money. What kind of travel is there?
  11. I sent you a message. I am not sure which hotel. They are supposed to get with me today. I told them that I need one close to the hospital so I can ride the Dart system. Thank u for your help.
  12. I love Texas. I lived in Waco, Tx for six years. I have also lived in southern California. My main worry is transportation to the hospital since I don't have a car. The manager told me to get a hotel close to the hospital so that is what I am doing. I still dress in jeans and boots. Thank you for your help.
  13. I always welcomed the use of a time out room to get yourself together. It is not seclusion. I admire that you are able to identify when you need to do that instead of acting out.
  14. I am totally new to traveling. I just got my first assignment. I am leaving this Friday. It is a psychiatric hospital which is an area that I love. I am starting to panic a bit because I will know no one. Are there any other nurses in Dallas? What is it like? I am single with two dogs.
  15. I have one of those. My husband does not make much money. He could make more but he doesn't. He doesn't care about my health. He only cares about how many hours I work. I am walking out tonight. I have gotten a fulltime job that I like and I am moving on. If I have to work this hard it is for me. Not him.
