Tough situation.Do You have a copy of your signed contract? If you do, which is cheaper staying with no work and puting out for living expenses ,or losing your deposit? Can you swap Moms ticket for a ticket home for you? If you have a copy of your signed contract you could probably take them to court and be reimbursed for at least some of your expenses .Depends on the contract you signed.I'd have an attorney look at it and advise me.That won't be too expensive.Also ,What company are you with so I can avoid them ?

25.00 is about the norm starting salary for new grads.No a year in med surg is not required but experience will be hired 1st.Best way to get into an ICU right out of school is to contact hospitals of interest and ask about their nurse intern programs.These programs will give you the support and resources you need while you are learning to work in your area of preference.Good Luck

There is alot of dissatisfaction at our hospital Re: Floating to other areas especially overflow unit. ICU nurses to med surg .PRN staff refuse to float out of unit so the full time nurses are sent.Any one have workable alternatives or helpful suggestions?
