  1. HI there, I was wondering if you took the job at St Anthony's St Louis back in 2009? If yes, how was/is it? I was thinking of applying there, but so many bad stories still loom over St Anthony's... Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you
  2. hi kagarciarn how was pay at st clare fenton for a new grad?
  3. There is no reason why you couldn't work as both. I think the diversity of your knowledge and experience would make you better at either specialty. People change careers all the time and/or work full time in one field and part time in another. Do what makes you happiest!
  4. Is there anyone out there who can give us any pointers on what to do/avoid to be effective when applying on-line?
  5. I agree with others...sounds like you just need a change of environment. Good luck with whatever you choose!
  6. Family in the room should have no bearing on frequency of assessment. If family could take care of them, they wouldn't be in the hospital...they would be at home.
  7. I think it's all the stress everyone is under right now in life! People losing jobs and homes, causes a LOT of stress. I know a guy 40 years old just had triple bypass and valve replacement...all damage was due to stress over the past year!
  8. hi mnemonicfanatic i hope things have gotten better for you regarding the ratios. what area of missouri do you work?
  9. Just curious to those of whom would be comfortable answering... where are you looking for work? St Louis...Kansas City...? where did you graduate from? What level is your degree? have you checked in where you went to school? have you tried checking with instructors you might have been close to while going to school?
  10. I had NO medical experience before becoming a nurse and was 30 years old! My experience was in office administration management. I know all too well what you're feeling, but keep on keeping on! You'll feel more confident as time goes on. You're just used to knowing what you're doing and nursing is new. Good luck!
  11. Where are some of the best places to work in the Ste. Genevieve/Jefferson County area? Anyone had good or bad experiences? Where?
  12. Looking for feedback of the likelihood that I could find an RN position and what suggestions "you" would have for the necessity of a refresher or just go out and apply and see what surfaces?? History: -Went to school part-time while working full time (in unrelated field) @ age of 30 to get RN -2 years pediatric experience at major hospital after graduation -8 year "break" in nursing after 2 year experience -Worked 8 years (to current) in NON health-related career. Current MO RN licensure Live 50 miles due south of St Louis, Missouri. Would prefer to stay out of metropolitan St Louis, if possible. What are my chances?
