Avant Healthcare
I think so. In the Philippines, a BSN degree is a requirement before you could sit for a local board. Earning a local license allows you to practice as staff nurse in any hospitals. Avant requires that you gain at least 3 years of continuous bedside practice before joining them.

Congrats in advance! The trick is actually working for both US and UK NMC computer-based test. The latter is more direct stating "scheduling of exam is not allwed for successful candidate. The applicant has already passed the exam..." something like that. lol. For as long as it is Pearson Vue, I think thats how their system works. Btw, what state are u applying for?

Avant Healthcare
Hello guys! I would just like to let you all know that I already passed the NCLEX-RN! I am really thankful to Avant Review Program and the support of their team along the way. As a matter of fact, they even booked me on a hotel day prior to exam and asked me freely how long I like to stay. :) The hotel was just 2 towers away from Pearson VUE and I am seeing it directly on the window from where I am staying (31st floor). When they learned that I passed using Pearson Quick Result, the Review Team immediately sent me a cool video congratulating me followed by Senior VP message and detailed instruction on the next step. Now, I am preparing for my EB3 visa processing.

It really depends on how compliant you are with the document submission. It will undergo several screening process and document control before endorsing you to the NCLEX Review Team. Usually, you'll hear their FEEDBACK within 24 hours. Their instruction are really good and you'll be guided in every phase. On my personal experience, I waited 3 months.

Avant Healthcare
I signed my contract with them last December 2015. It went to several phases which are highly efficient and organized before getting enrolled to their NCLEX Review Program. Formally started my review last April 2016 since we need the review materials first which all came from their corporate office in Orlando! I couldn't imagine opening the Fedex Box with lots of good books and MP3 player for listening lecture. I highly recommend Avant but you need to reciprocate it with motivation and dedication to study for the NCLEX. They are monitoring you every step of the way

Overweight RNs..employed/unemployed?
Just a friendly reminder. First, do all the ways now to lose your weight. Remember, nurses are knowledgeable about health and we know for a fact that any alteration in the normal BMI is considered abnormal. Second, we are reinforcing people to be healthy as much as we could and that means being a good role model with them; an RN that depicts good body image. Third, start now. There's no other way you can overcome this concern if you will act now. Lastly, not all hospitals care about nurses weight. However, remember that you will need to take series of medical exam as part of screening process. Any alteration to normal body weight might put you at risk. That's all and hope you overcome it! :)

New thread that will lead us to New job and trainings
Hello there! I'm currently taking my volunteer training in Martinez Hospital. With regard to your question, yes they are still open for volunteers. All you have to do is to personally visit their office and pay the corresponding reservation fee. The total duration of the training is 5k/3 mos. When I asked the FB lady, she told me that they still have 20+ vacant slots. So hurry up now and do your reservation. The 2nd batch of training will start by January 4. With rumor if they will absorb staff nurses, yes that's true! The top nurses in the said program will be absorb as regular staff after Evaluation and exams. That's all for now folks. Kudos if you like.

Employment process at The Medical City (Ortigas Ave.)
Correct! From the moment I was informed about their online database, I keep on visiting it to check if I can update my acct there, but nothing.. not even a single second I have seen it working!!! Don't loose hope! Justice will prevail! Keep on applying and don't forget to pray.

Employment process at The Medical City (Ortigas Ave.)
Forget about this hospital!!! I also went there and that air headed HR personnel told me just to signup and create an acct with their computer. That online database is a mess and I can't update my acct with it. Take note: I went there long time ago. If they have this NTP program, why did they not informed me about this or offered me such program. They didn't even bothered to talk with it because they have friends, relatives whom they will inform to secured them a slot even those people are not yet aware of it! ...

Commonwealth Memorial Hospital and Medical center
Lol. above poster is right! back reading will help you clear your confusion. But for the benefit of the doubt, let me tell you something about it. I just went there last week ( 2nd wk of Nov) and yes! they are still accepting applicants. Bounded by curiosity, I asked why?; where in fact they started accepting applicants since July I think. The lady just told me that there's still no order to stop it so they will just go on and will still accept applicants. The sad part is, when I went there, the final screening of applicants will start by tomorrow. Too late and too bad I wasn't informed about it earlier. Anyway, there's still hope for us and the lady told me that they will conduct an exam again. So for you out there, prepare all your greatest weapons and fire them by your blasting credentials!!! :) Better late than never!!!!

is the amount of time a nurse volunteer in a hospital be considerd as work experience
It depends on the institution to which you are applying with..volunteer nurse is different from a regular staff nurse where every minute counts as working experience. But let us rejoice to the fact that some hospitals do offer Certificate of Employment instead of cert's of training after volunteer work. Kudos to that hospital... That's along QC. lol :D

What are your plans as a RN?
i had a great time reading all your plans as an rn. i know this was really a tough time for us because we are affected indirectly by the global crisis. for me, i have nothing as to compare with you guys. i am just a fresh bsn graduate. still more time, money and efforts to make before reaching the desired dreams. i haven't took yet the board last june but i graduated april of 2009. maybe i just want to make sure that everything goes fine before taking the board. i want a board rating that is somehow acceptable to me. a board rating that is not so inferior like 75% but a rating that is somehow qualified and competitive enough to meet the demands of most hospital. as i continue to read all the blog post, i found out that the competition for job application in most of the hospitals are stiff. in fact, some of them requires a candidate to have a board rating not below 80% in board rating. some are really hopeless waiting for the phone calls for their application notification. as the story goes, i was really shocked and gradually felt the fear of not getting it. i have lots of plan. with the preparation before the november 2009 nle, i know i will make it! despite of the fact that we have already an over supply of rn's who are all eager to grab the much desired jobs. maybe while waiting for the board result, i'l go for call center work. if the results released, i'll go for training and will attend various seminars. although thinking that the competition are quite unfair as other job applicants will have a backer, still i will compete fairly. if for an instance i will be hired in a tertiary hospital, i will spent my time around 1 year or more as a registered nurse while taking up masteral degree. then once finished, i will apply as a nurse in foreign countries. i know myself that this plan will change as there are some shifts or changes in the global world. but one thing for sure, i am ready to conquer the world! bwahahahaha.......

Seminars & Trainings and your chances of being hired?
i Think having a backer is quite unfair for others but that is how reality works. So sad for that..

Seminars & Trainings and your chances of being hired?

Well, thanks for the advise but more than reviewing the topics, I am also concerned on how grades are being computed. In that way, I'll be able to assess myself during the review process..
