Good points. I understand where the mdas are coming from they want to differentiate themselves with medical school n residency they do more intense cases they think that some nurses trying to steal their jobs and their money. But the bottom line is they can't do all those cases in USA they need CRNA's. that's why they are pushing AAs so that can control them. It's all about money job securities finance economics etc. this will never going to be over. But I understand everybody's view. This is nothing but politics not any different than Hillary vs trump. We have to deal with it make money before our health care moves to single party payer and our reimbursements go down. ps: forgive my English. It's not very good

True faces of anesthesiologists are revealed in those ASA meetings. Or in Houston. They are bringing in lot of AAs, its easy for them.

Anesthesiologists see CRNA's as their job stealers or their assistants to throw their trash and clean their mess help them keep their money. They hate crnas if they like you only on your face inside they literally hate you . Anything else is an illusion.

Well GHA monopolized anesthesia field to protect their profession and created a hostile culture. I get only one shot to intubate I'm losing my skills so I resigned.

Well ask the CRNA's practicing in Houston. CRNA's are treated like shi*, there are PACU's nurses straight out telling me " can't believe nurses are getting paid to push propofol" " you CRNA's don't do ****". It's very disheartening to hear those you go to school for this. Mdas in Houston limit Crna practice less than school. Mdas want to make themselves different one of the mda I work with very rude guy he doesn't let CRNA's do anything. I don't feel like typing anymore I resigned my job.

But anybody who knows how anesthesia is practiced in houston, please research how MDAs are very protective about their jobs and dont allow CRNAs to push the drugs, not allowed to do Regional anesthesia they want to differentiate themselves more skilled compared to CRNAs, CRNAs set up the room and everything and they will pUSH the drugs and be on their phones outside BAHAHAHAHHA flawed system, Does anyone know how much they bill for CRNA anesthesia services for 15 minutes general anesthesia...... 2800 us dollars thats how much they bill but the insurance company doesnt pay everything they pay about 700 still if you do 4 of those 2800 total in reasonably 2 hrs, anyways my english is not good but you understood my post right???? thats all it matters, ............. dont work for GHA, greate houston anesthesia dont work for them.

Oh brother GHA group, google it, they have AAs, the mdas come in to push the drugs, you just witness the anesthesia unfolding Infront of you, you as a CRNA insignificant in Houston, TX and help mdas lives get better. Lol. CRNA makes about 220k just to assist n do the paper work, mda makes about 400k, now I know why I pay 700 dollars health insurance just myself. Flawed system.

Don't take me wrong, in Houston, Texas CRNAs stock their rooms, prepare the meds, MDAs see the patients sometimes. CRNAs are told by MDAs that they don't have to see the patient, so you bring the patient to their room. CRNAs hand the drugs to MDAs, they push the drugs, MDAs let them intubate and then leave. CRNAs manage take vitals do the paperwork MDAs come for emergencies, if there is something wrong MDAs take over. Any nurse can do what CRNAs do with the exception of intubation that can be learned by a nurse. My questions do CRNAs have to go to school for 3 years and get a masters degree for this? Do they deserve 220k salary when they don't do anything autonomously? I see a flawed system any thoughts??!!!!

Just returned from the Texas board of Nursing went last night, in the building around 805 am, I signed in a computer as visitor, little hall has few chairs and a computer everything around that little hall is completely closed and that is texas board of nursing. You can t see nothing inside and your not allowed to talk to anyone, an undesignated man came out and told me to get out of the building, Just kidding, he said that I shouldnt have come travelling all the way, no details were given whether my transcript was received or not, he said he cant go through all the mails and check, Interestingly he said there is only one person that is working in the APN department, that surprised little bit, everything is very intriguing how the board operates. Very unpleasant experience after driving 12 hrs back and forth. Texas board is just wowwwwww just unbelievable.

No wonder California board got fired by the Governor. I hope somebody reform Texas board, I agree Massachusetts is small compared to Texas, but Mass is much quicker? Texas takes 8 weeks and Massachusetts takes only a 2 days or , How much ever smaller the state is there is a huge difference in efficiency. 1-2 days compared to 8 weeks thats just gigantic difference. every year 10 millions dollars are spent on the board of nursing apart from License fees, unless its jail system I dont see why cant it be nicer to their patrons? I am asking you the same question again? do you know how these board members are selected and who governs this board?

We are the one thats going to nursing schools and paying tuition and paying every year for the licensure, we are the one rendering services at the bed side day and night, Its our money they are taking home every month as salaries. We deserve little respect and dignity and responsible answers when we call them, I think they are there because of us and we are part of the public too, But anyhoooo Texas board of nursing baddd customer service hope the governor changes the whole system of board of nursing like California did. wow, I just receieved an email saying that check status online, its an automated email they send to everyone. Thats just pathetic when you charged $150 for application your not responsible to address whats going on with my application how many days will it take to process, wwooowwwww thats just wowwwww. No responsibility of acknowledgement of receipt of transcript no responsibility to tell how many days would it take to process. They just say DONT CALL US. Just unbelievable.

Hey Commuter I agree, bureaucracy is the right word. Hey do you have any Idea how this texas board is been selected why these people work so slow: and give a lame excuse of limited resources, If its so limited charge us more and hire somebody expedite things come onnnn. I have been to other states they dont take this long to work. Massachussets issues APN license in a day if u have everything in line. Does anybody know how this Board of nursing members are selected and how the money is being used which is paid by us. I think they are there to serve us not to be above all. Texas board is very rude when you call them and very inefficient they need help for sure.

Texas board of nursing is slow, compared to other states, they always give a lame excuse that their resources are limited, there are lot of people out there without jobs, raise the license fees and give somebody a job be productive and let us also be productive. What a lame excuse it is to say their resources are limited. Raise 50 bks each on licensure fees and hire someone. This lack of resources lame excuse costing us RNs money because we are out of jobs for their laziness. Its like we dont want to work we dont want u to work too. Folks this is not the way to operate.
