preceptorship
hi New York Midwife! i would love to connect with you~ perhaps on Facebook? i have a page on facebook- search BIRTHnerd ~you can message me there i am currently in California- i live in the eastern sierra mountains- Mammoth Lakes--very remote. I am started a Masters Midwifery program @ Philadelphia University next month- 3 year tract. i have been a labor and delivery RN for 16 years- much disappointment in how hospital births are managed- i am starting to network with midwives, especially in the home birth environment. are you a CNM? My clinical will start in 2013- the final semester being full time hours, and i am willing to relocate. i would love to chat privately! cheers! Kristen

please help me nurses and CNMs!
hi all, i have been in the industry for over 15 years..labor and delivery and also NICU RN. i love my work so much. however, i have maxed out on this path. I love working with my mamas and i need more, i feel i am not growing anymore as a staff labor RN. I am going to be 40 next year-whoa- and i feel with my experience and passion for midwifery..well perhaps i need to make this change! i am currently deciding if i should enter the Frontier CNEP masters midwifery program. i am concerned about finding a job after graduating. is it very competitive? are new grads finding work? i know new grad RNs are having trouble finding work, but is this the same in the midwife industry? thank you so much namaste, :heartbeat

California or Hawaii?
CALIFORNIA!! is awesome, such diversity, you can ski, surf, hike, bike, rock climb..be in the desert, on the beach or in amazing mountains (where i am..northern cali, eastern sierra mtns!) plus with the nursing ratio laws the work is alot easier than some states ive worked in! housing is super spendy here, but the pay is sooo good!
