Pegasus, Have you received your license yet? I am in a similar situation with GA LPN Board. I've secured employment but I'm afraid I'll loose it if it takes too long. My "test mates" received their licenses 3 days ago. I was prepared for this to take longer but it would put me at ease to have a sense of how much longer. Mine is a misdemeanor from 17 years ago. Do you think that nagging the office was helpful? It is so infuriating getting the standard answer that "it's in legal and legal services does not provide a timeline for processing". Anyway, just curious how things worked out for you. Overall it seems like for folks in our situation, it has taken 3-4 extra weeks to process. Let me know if you have a minute, thanks.

Yup it's broken down into quarters although I believe they are preparing to change that format very soon. They want to make it more in line with other institutions. As for when you hear, I remember that I heard only about 3 weeks ahead. I think I heard around the 20th of August so keep holding your breath. If you've got a 4.0, I wouldn't worry too much. If you are accepted, they'll want you to have a TB test and have your Hep shots up to date so you might want to line that up ahead of time. Best of luck to you.

It's all about GPA. I found out in August for September start so it could be anytime for you now. I am about to graduate in 5 weeks from the LPN program. I can only draw on the experience of our class but it was purely about grades, we were about 3.7 and up. A couple of words of advice..... if you're going into this program, and you work, beware. Your last two terms are full time mayhem and very few people are able to work and those that do are barely able to work weekends. I'm giving you a heads up so that you are not caught by surprise. If you do get in, approach the whole thing like basic training. It won't all make sense, sometimes they are putting you through it just to push you, don't look for logic - just give yourself to the program and ride the tide. It is very difficult and very gratifying. I am just about at the end of my race and although I'm just barely dragging my butt across the finish line..... I will cross it. It's a good feeling and I hope you get to experience it.

Nope, I just got the acceptance letter with instructions to call and confirm that I'd be at the orientation. It came about a week or two prior to the orientation. Maybe they sent you a letter asking if you're still interested because it's been so long since you applied. It sounds like maybe you got passed up for the first term but are now up for the second??? Maybe you should call the Allied Health office and get some answers. In either case, I hope you make it. It's a lot of work and a completely different level of committment and stress then you've had so far. It does have it's fun moments though. Take care,

Hey there, sorry I couldn't respond to your private message but apparently you need 15 posts to reply to one. I'll answer you here since it pertains to this original thread. Yep, I got my letter in late August and I'm in the program. Just finished the first quarters and looks like I've made it through the first two weeks of clinicals without hurting anyone or myself. Remember though, I'm at Savannah campus so I don't know what the timetable is for Liberty County. Good luck!

Read everything 3 times ( yes, this requires time management and advance planning ). 1st time - just read. 2nd time - highlight important info. 3rd time - make notes even if this means re-writing from the text verbatim. My brain seems to remember what I write down better. It leaves an image for me to draw information from. It's not about what you think is important info.....listen to the subtle clues your instructors provide as to what is important to them. What did they repeat twice? What are their "pet" issues/subjects, etc. Until you can confidently close the text and feel like you'll get an A, you're not finished studying. Good luck fellow students!

Royal blue scrubs for class/labs with white shoes. Clinicals are another story.....all white. pants, white shoes, white button scrub top with school patch. i feel like an old fashioned milk delivery man ( guess i just gave away my age ). 2% or whole milk anyone?

i have to wear royal blue and my school trys to get us use meridys $$$$ does anyone know which other brands match the meridays shade of this color? (apparently the schools aren't familiar with the term "starving student").

I think I have just figured out that you're at the Liberty Campus? It startled me when you mentioned orientation because letters for orientation haven't gone out yet at Savannah campus. Anyway....best of luck to you

Hi Jessi I also replied to your other post about waiting for acceptance into the program so take a look there as well. If it works out that we both get in, I will be looking for a study partner to help refresh my memory before the term starts. I feel like I'm loosing all I've learned and there is only so much Discovery Health Channel I can watch to stay in touch with it. Check out the other post and let me know how you do. Hi There, I'm in exactly the same boat as you are and I am just hatin' the waitin'!!! I'm a little nervous because even though I managed a 4.0 gpa, I talked to someone who graduated a couple of years ago and she also had a 4.0 but still had to fight with them for a place in the program. The let her in the day before the term started. Their system is certainly a little screwey. If you want, let me know when you get your response from the school and I'll do the same for you. I feel your pain. I'm just about to finish up my pre-requisites for my local LPN program. It is absolutely killing me that I will now have to wait 5 months to see if I've been accepted to the next level of the program....... I don't have that many good years left!! What I do know is this - as a forty something student I..... Enjoyed school more Got great grades ( 43 years of collected useless knowledge ) I am confident I am driven I was able to mentor the younger students around meMost importantly, I understand my own motivations for doing this and appreciate the opportunity so much more than I would have years ago. Some things are sweeter when you have waited for them longer. Best of luck to US!
