I also ordered from Uniformdiscount.com ($104 clogs). They charged my credit card in a flash and I never heard or received a single message, not to mention the clogs themselves. I could kick myself, because they have over 220 complaints of fraud just like ours on the Rip-Off Report. I will try the Attorney General as the other poster suggested.

Hi everyone, I am starting at PBISN in about a month and I'm doing the 3-year option. Do any of you 2nd year students know if 3-year students have to buy a PDA for the first year? Or is it just for students taking nursing classes and doing clinicals? I'm not really clear on what to get, and I'm hoping that I can postpone it until next year when I have a better idea! Thanks so much.

When I emailed to confirm that all of my application materials were in, Mrs. Gallo emailed right back with the full list of everything received. That was back in February, when they weren't so deluged, however. That said, I think you should definitely call the main number and check to be sure they have your entire application, particularly if things were going in in bits and pieces. The PBISN website says they require a GPA of 2.5 or higher; you're above that, and with the high NLN score, I would think they would be interested in you. They really couldn't be nicer, so you have absolutely nothing to worry about in terms of calling or emailing--really. Good luck!

I have a lot of study guides that I'm happy to give away. I have a copy of the NLN review guide (the beige book for the RN Pre-Entrance Exam/aka NLN-PAX) in good condition. The only writing in the book are corrections to errors in the text—tiny amounts on 2 or 3 pages at most. (I didn't write on the practice exams at all.) I also have the NLN review guide for the LPN/LVN Pre-Entrance Exam, which is exactly the same in the review section as the RN book, but different in the sample tests sections (it's the green NLN review guide). I got it for the extra practice exams, and I was glad I did when I took the actual exam in March. I also have the Cliffs Test Prep Nursing School Exam book, which covers the science review topics in more depth. I also have the Barron's Nursing School Entrance Exams book, which I got for the sciience review as well. It covers the A&P well, as I recall, plus osmosis and other bio stuff. I have never taken A&P or Physics, and took Bio over 30 years ago—got 52/60 on the science section and owe it to these books! Whoever wants the books (over $100 worth) can have them for free—you just have to arrange and pay for the shipping/pickup. You can send me a private message if you're interested. I live with my family of five in a Brooklyn apartment and they're taking up too much space! Good luck! P.S. Also have Learning Express Nursing School Entrance Exam book, but I didn't use it. It has a CD-rom in it that I never looked at, so I don't know what it is.

I would recommend on this last day before your test to do one of the comprehensive practice exams in the back of the book, and really watch your time. A lot of people run out of time on the math section, so don't spend too much time on any one problem during the actual exam. For problems I wasn't sure about, I made a best guess on the answer sheet and then circled the question in the test booklet so that I could come back to it later if I had time. If math is your weakness, do a lot of practice problems involving ratios and percentages. Do something relaxing to clear your head before bed, and don't stay up until 3 or 4 tonight! Get a good night's sleep. Scoring above the 55th percentile is not difficult, so don't worry about that part so much. Best of luck. :wink2:

Ponchie, Yes, you do need your high school transcript. You need transcripts from all colleges attended, if you went to more than one. I have a master's degree and still had to send in the high school transcript. Good luck

My interview is on Tuesday. There is an old thread that discusses what people experienced on their interviews at PBISON. Also, at the open house, the speaker said that if you get a call for an interview, you can consider yourself almost all the way in.
