  1. I am very nervous about this. My husband is no longer working and I work a full time job and two part time jobs to support our family already. I don't know what will happen if something happens to my wages. There are not enough hours in the day to work a fourth job.
  2. I was just wondering if anyone knows if Frontier accepts Excelsior ADN grads. Any information would be helpful in deciding my educational future. Thanks in advance for any info.
  3. Thanks to both of you for your response. We were looking at Texas, Arizona, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina type areas. Dry heat would be better than humid with the condition my husband has.
  4. I currently live in the frigid cold state of Michigan. Temperatures are hovering around the single digits right now. My husband has Ankylosingspondylitis. The cold is taking a toll on him. I would like to leave MI in the next few years if possible. What states will not accept EC graduates? I have read posts that talk of California not accepting them at all and Georgia not making it easy for EC graduates to practice in their state. Any help would be appreciated. I really don't want to go too much further with EC if I can't use my license in warmer weather states. Thanks in advance.
  5. has anyone ever wondered if the nursing shortage could be fixed if the government changed a few rules? nursing homes could be run with an lpn as the don, the unit manager/clinical care coordinator, and/or administrator. ma's could work in the role that the lpn has worked in. that would free up a lot of nurses. the lpn's could work in the hospitals. couldn't that help fix the nursing shortage?????
  6. Hello everyone! I wish I had found the All Nurses website a long time ago. I signed with TCN in 2006. I am supposed to be doing the EC program. After reading all of the posts about both EC and ISU, I am thinking that maybe I would like to switch to the ISU program. It seems to be more widely accepted. I also like the idea of having actual clinicals with a person to teach you vs. a three day test that is pass or fail. I would like to thank everyone for all of the information that has been posted here. It has been very helpful. I am going to look into the hospitals in my area to see if they will allow the clinicals before I start any of the classes. Again, thank you so much for taking the time to post on this site. Good luck to all in your studies.
  7. What is a reasonable amount of time to plan to get through the EC program?
