San Diego nursing salaries?
I know I'm joining this thread late, but if still looking at please respond. I'm looking to relocate also to San Diego, but it will be awhile before I do. I'm a new grad and when I move to San Diego I will have 2 years experince as a Med Surg nurse. Are salarys better as a speciality nurse or a med surg nurse? I was thinking about working as an oncology nurse. Also I hear that San Diego does not pay as well, what is the average for 2 years experience? Also could you keep me posted on how your doing out there and what is going on with you. Thanks

background checks?
I was working for a hospital when I started nursing school. The hospital did a back ground check, I had to fill out the paper work and I saw the results first before sending it on to security at the College. They had to give the green light before I was even excepted into school. When I applied for my licenses at BON they required another back ground check. So Its not my back ground or my ablility to do the job. I was just wondering if anyone else was having any problem. I've only applied at 3 places, I'm expecting to hear from the other two this coming week.

background checks?
So why were you let go? My school does a complete background check, I have no skeletons. They would not give me a licences if I did not meet thier requirements. Candle1234

New Grad
Hello all, I need some advice. I just Graduated from Regis University in Denver with a BSN. I pass the Nclex 2-5-08, and today I received my RN licences in the mail. So all is good, ok yea, but I've applied to a couple of hospital to their new grad programs and was turned away. I have some experience, I was a Medical Assistant for 5 years at a cancer center, so I bring something to the job. I decided to just apply to a RN position, without the new grad title hoping this will help, still waiting to see. What all do you recommend. Candle in Denver
