Never thought of libraries but the ones around here have no parking so I usually go to Walmart or a department store that I know has a facility near the door. FF places are clean but if there isn't a back door, they kind of give you pig looks when you don't buy any food from them. It never seems to fail that the urge to GO, and I mean GO, hits when way out in the boonies and even the trees are winking at you. Believe it or not, worked with an aide who finished giving a little old lady a complete bath and asked to use the bathroom. The woman replied, "absolutely not! I have to think of my own health." :rotfl:

Had a young man who was an aids pt. He developed a high fever and in his confusion forgot to unhook his IV before wandering down the hallway. The connector pulled off but luckily the Hickman didn't pull out so he bled freely onto the floor. The family dog thought this was just yummy. Although most of the mess was cleaned up when I made my visit, the big worry was if the dog would develop aids.

Cover a 3 county area of Pa. Salary is $20 per hr. no difference for case variations or admits. Mandatory on-call at $2 per hr. with time and one half of your regular hourly rate if you have to make an on-call visit. Insurance is paid for full time employees, no family coverage unless you pay diff. Mileage is paid at .32 per.

I live between Hazleton and Wilkes Barre and work in Home Health. Over the last few years, Wilkes Barre has become quite the shoppers paradise. Unfortunately the nursing salaries in this area are quite low compared with the Allentown and Phila. area, the excuse being that the Medicare reimbursement is less d/t this being a "rural" area. Lots of nurses choose to travel to those areas on a daily basis which is also tricky with the bad weather up here. Many of the nurses who've graduated from "Misery" have done quite well despilte this area's poor economy. Nice to hear about fellow upstaters.
