  1. Hi All, It's been some time since I've been on this site. I'm highly insterested in Public Health (mainly as I would like to take my career into Lactation Consultation). Chamberlian University has a new degree, Masters of Public Health, ans as an alumni myself, I would get a huge discount on tuition. I've been going back and forth to determine if I should do the MSN-PH (Masters of Science with Public Health specialty) or the MPH (Masters of Public Health). They both tackle similar class, epidemiology, biostatistics, etc. 1. Has anyone heard about the Chamberlain MPH (which the program itself is not accredited yet)? 2. With taking my career towards Lactation Consultation, would it be better to go the MPH route or just do the MSN-PH route? Thank you all!
  2. If you read in my original post, I stated I was looking for extra money.... In addition to my full time job that I already have. I used to want to be a teacher prior to becoming a nurse. What you described, with constant feedback, grading assignments, on the computer most all days.... That sounds a lot like what I'm already doing in some ways now and truly enjoy it. Plus, that sounds like exactly what I would enjoy doing. I definitely do not think it's an easy job without it's challenges. I am a very organized person with great time management skills. I absolutely love educating and have had so many tell me that I have explain things very well. These are just a few things... But ultimately, I would like to attain my masters in nursing education. Thanks.
  3. My co worker only has her BSN and she is teaching online. I found one school, but they require 3 years RN experience with only BSN.
  4. Hello all, I have been an RN for 2 years and could really use a little extras money plus teaching experience. I have a co worker that is teaching as an adjunct faculty, buy she had over 15 years and has been teaching for a long time. I also am thinking of getting my masters in nursing education, but would like to before an adjunct faculty to experience what it's like. I have taught students while on the floor and I absolutely loved it. The students even asked for me. Do you have any recommendations of where I can bed an online adjunct faculty with a BSN and 2 years medical/oncology/primary care experience? I forgot to mention that my RN license is in Arizona. Thank you.
  5. Are you going to GCU full time or part time? How many hours of study/coursework would you say you do per week? Thanks.
  6. I just received the email stating I've gotten accepted into Frontier Nursing University Class 1101 I'm super excited! Now, just to save up some of my money to pay for the Frontier Bound really quickly.Who else got accepted?
  7. Please, if anyone else can give me some advice, that would be great. I'm now starting to think about completely different careers at this point, which would be painful to have these student loans I'm paying on for a career I'm no longer working. I am reaching out here before I make a horrible decision. Thank you in advance.
  8. Thank you. I will look into those insurance companies. Any other ideas???
  9. Hi everyone, It's been nearly one year on the med-surg floor at the VA. I will tell you that I am SO burnt out. I know I needed this year of experience, but with the high patient loads with each shift and the drama between the staff, and the high death rate, I am just done with this floor nursing. I knew in the very beginning that I would never like floor nursing, but now I'm really disliking it even more. Plus the scheduling is horrible. I have small children and about once or twice a month, I am scheduled for night shift. If I don't have a sitter, then I have no choice but to call in. So, I can feel that it is definitely time for me to change. But with only 1 year of RN experience, what could I possibly change to??? There are not any other open positions right now at the VA. I would like to get into maybe the clinic, but they require 2 years of acute care experience. I'm just stuck and want out now. I'm so stressed out, I've noticed my family being on the receiving end of my stress. It's not a good thing any longer. I applied for NP school, but in the meantime, I need to work somewhere. Any advice for me in my situation? Thanks so much!
  10. That was the same email I received when my application was complete back in August. I agree, not much time for travel or even scheduling time off for work. But we do what we need to do for one of the best programs!
  11. Hmmmm. Interesting that the other lady said otherwise. Thank you so much. Load like another upcoming expense....
  12. Hi. Would you mind copying the email here from the IT guy? I spoke to a lady in IT. Can't remember her name and she said that it is outdated as they understand that not everyone can afford an iPad, etc. The unfortunate part is that if it truly is required, we must bring it to Frontier Bound.... Therefore, we have only a month or 2 to save and purchase one from when we get out acceptance letter. Oh well. The life of technology in a rather tough economy. I'd like to see exactly what he wrote though. Thanks.
  13. Yay. At least I'm not the only one.... Let me know if you hear anything and I'll do the same.
  14. Yes, I agree.... This wait is somewhat difficult.... I'm always checking my email, their website, here, etc. lol
  15. Just an update regarding my technology question. I called Frontier today and they had told me that they no longer require the iPad/iPod Touch/iPhone for their clinical portion. The Android OS would be compatible with their software and technology. Yippee! That's good news for those that are NOT apple people. LOL
  16. Oh. No problem at all. We're all here to help one another. :-)
  17. I saw that too, but I'm not talking about the laptop. They require an iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch for clinical. But I'm hoping that their software is compatible with the Android OS.
  18. Hi PaigeRN, I applied to Class 110, not 112. I haven't heard anything yet. I did learn that as soon as a decision is made, we should know... And this was from the admission rep. I also asked them about their technology needs since I don't have an iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch... I have an Android Phone and would like to not have to purchase another device if I don't have to. I'll hear back this week regarding that. I'm super excited... Can't wait to hear good news, I pray.
  19. Hmmm... Lol. Possibly, but it closed super early, so I doubt it. Lol. I had submitted my app and they emailed me saying they needed my package by the end of the week or else I would be moved to three next class 112. I hurried up and overnighted my package and they got it pretty much the next day. Now THAT was close. But I made it. I didn't know they'd close the app acceptance date until they emailed me. It must be meant to be for me. :-) I'm praying I get accepted for this class. Praying every day. I'm super excited!
  20. If what you said about a class closing early and they decide sooner, then that would be perfect for me, since its been 3 weeks since my class closed. Yay!
  21. I can't be the only one on here that has applied to Class 110........
  22. I'd like to collaborate with those of us that has applied to Class 110 for the FNP program. I'm super excited! Anxiously awaiting for acceptance letters in a few months..... :-)
  23. I was just wondering if this picture of Batman was appropriate considering three mass movie theater shooting that just happened last month in Colorado.....
  24. I applied for the FNP class 110, so I'd be a cohort in front of you. I'm excited! Congrats on applying.
