Nassau Community College
I also got in!! After 1 year of hard working of taking prerequisites and im finally going to start my nursing career. Only school im waiting for is Suffolk Community College. Which brings me to a question. Which is a better school? I know both are great Universities but which one would benefit me more as a RN(such as getting a job, internship after me 1 year etc). The cost on both schools are almost the same and the distance i really dont mind. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Congrats to all who got into Nassau!

Someone in the forum said its not NLN accredited? What does that mean and how will it affect me? Also I want to double check if the nursing is accredited? meaning once i go back to school for a bachelor will i have any hard time transferring?

Is an associates degree enough for me ?
Hi, currently I have a BS degree in Computer science and just recently i decided to switch my career to nursing. Im getting ready to apply to some nursing school which most give an associates degree. Is it necessary to get a BS degree in nursing since I already got a BS degree in another field? My plan is to keep advancing in my nursing career and maybe one day end up as a nurse practitioner. Thanks

Need some help in applying to the nursing program.
hi, i recently graduated from stony brook with a computer science degree and i decided to do a career change since it wasn't for me. ive been taking some of the prerequisite such as a&p 1 and 2 , psychology, and statistics. i received as in all my classes but soon i will need to decided where to apply for the nursing program. i want to apply for suffolk community college, stony brook university, nassau community college, and nyu. my plan is to try to get an associates or bachelor degree in 2 years or less. here is the problem ..my graduate gpa is a 2.4 from stony brook so i was wondering if this will effect my chances in getting accepted to any of these schools even though i got as in my prerequisite course? also nyu requires more classes such as nutrition & health and i don't think suffolk offers any of those classes. so is it ok to still apply to nyu and say only have 5 out of the 6 preqres complete? i know trying to get into the nursing program is really hard and i want to enter the nursing program and finish it within 2 years. any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks
