Took NCLEX PN yesterday - Nov 18th 2008
I got some great news everyone! After the 2 1/2 weeks of anticipation... I finally recieved my letter from the boards yesterday and I passed!!!! I seriously didn't expect my results to come so early since California usually says it takes about 3-4 weeks, especially around the holiday season. But I'm glad it came before the holidays! This is the best Christmas present I can give to myself and my family. Thank you to everyone on here for the support and encouraging words. This website has been an excellent tool for anything nursing.. from doing research before deciding to take on a nursing profession, to being in school, before and after the NCLEX, and so forth. I promise to give my 110% in my nursing profession and practice safely. This is only the beginning and it's sooooo surreal! I seriously can't believe I passed!

Getting More And More Anxious!!
I know how you feel Nurse2be.. It's been only 2 weeks since I took my test and I am trying to do everything to keep my mind off of it but it's impossible to forget such an important thing. My suggestion to you is to think positive and catch up on the things that you weren't able to handle while studying. Another thing.... I know it sounds stupid, because I'm on here too... but don't go on here too much and overanalyze people's NCLEX situations on here.. Each NCLEX test is individualized for everyone. Don't read too much into what people say about the test. If you can, just don't go on allnurses.com for awhile until you do get your results. (yeah I'm a hypocrite cause I'm on here right now) but I barely go on here now because I start to think crazy things about my test everytime I read people's threads. Have faith and remember to think positive regardless the outcome.

Stopped At 86!!!!!
:yeah:First of.. a round of applause for taking the test. We worked so hard throughout school, studying religiously for the NCLEX, and everything in between. I have faith in you that you have passed. You deserve it and although the first time didn't fly, when you DO recieve your license it'll be an even sweeter accomplishment. Remember.. after the :watherthunderstormc there's always :weathersunsmall::weathersunsmall:at the end.. Your test sounded similar to mine. Let's just wait it out and pray. And since God has been on your side throughout everything, I know he wants you to just relax and enjoy your time with your loved ones now. No one wants this as bad as you do.. and you will be a NURSE:nurse: before you know it. Congrats and good luck!!!

Hi katedrat! I think you did well. If you felt comfortable taking the test, I am almost more than positive that you passed. Good luck and keep me posted! Thank you for your response!

one month is so long to wait for results: Ca
I thought that when you submit all your papers to the CA BON, you will recieve your ATT because your file is complete. So do you mean to say that CA sends out the ATT before even reviewing our papers/transcripts?

Shut off at 85...NCLEX PN
I just took my NCLEX PN 4 days ago and I felt exactly the same way. My test shut off at 85 without giving me any calculations. I felt like the test wasn't as hard as I thought it would be but I also felt like I wasn't answering the questions right. I was so used to study mode and being able to read the answer and rationale right after. I wouldn't have been able to distinguish the easy vs. hard questions either because I just assumed every question to be difficult. But I am pretty sure we did fine. As everyone else said on here, you have to get mostly every question wrong for it to shut off at 85, which I'm pretty sure isn't the case for us. Good luck to you as I will be praying for the both of us. Keep us posted!

I had a bunch of priority questions too. i did't really feel like my test was getting any harder. my test felt like it was staying in a constant level. i don't know if thats a good or bad thing. it kept giving me infection contol questions so i am not really sure if it was giving me a bunch of those because I was answering them all wrong. Let's just wait it out and pray. At least you get the obligation to have quick results! I'm so jealous. lol

First off, congrats on taking your test! I know the whole process is very stressful but now it's time to get your mind off of it. You owe it to yourself.. take a break and relax! I am pretty sure all that studying has paid off. Have faith in yourself and I will be praying for you! BTW, how many questions did you have and what kind of questions did you get??

thank you for your posts! it all means a lot to me. as to answer your questions about the lengthy result wait... well i live in california and this state does not participate in the quick result option. i seriously don't understand why california doesn't give that option. it's driving me nuts!

Can I pass with 85 Qs, but no med calcs?
I just took the NCLEX 2 days ago and my computer stopped at 85 without giving me any calculations as well. I am so scared. I had a bunch of prioritizing and infection control. 3 pharm questions, 5 SATA, 3-5 maternity, and I dunno the rest. It's driving me insane and I won't be able to get the results for another month. :uhoh21: Good luck to you. Please update with your results.

First off, I just wanted for those preparing to take/retake the NCLEX to know that having faith and confidence:coollook: goes a long way. Please think positive:up: throughout the whole process.. From studying all the way until you receive your results. You've finished the nursing program:yeah: which means you can definitely accomplish passing the NCLEX. I graduated the VN program in January of this year. It took me 10 months to take the NCLEX because there were many difficult situations that had spontaneously happened this year. Although life had thrown a couple speed bumps in my path, I did not let that stop me from becoming closer to my dream. It was a difficult road:banghead:... from losing a loved one:crying2: and having financial difficulties:twocents:, I gave myself time to get myself together and pick myself up again. I brought this up because I know many of us have had or still have hurdles to jump. But don't lose faith and remember to never give up. You owe it to yourself no matter what people say or think. So I've been studying on and off for the past year but have been strictly following my Saunders Prescription Plan for about 2 months. I have pushed my test date about 4 times (which I strictly do not recommend for anyone to do:nono:) but I felt unsure and unconfident everytime that test date came closer. But in all honesty, I still did not feel confident but I knew I just had to. It was do or die, haha. The day of the test, I was a nervous wreck:banghead:. But luckily I have a strong support system.. And they really helped me with their positive encouragement:redbeathe. Just remember to take a deep breath and relax. I know that its easier said than done... but you have to keep repeating it to yourself. Being nervous will just make it harder for you to concentrate. So just relax and try your best. Remember to take breaks if you have to. You have 5 whole hours and I'm pretty sure you will not use up that whole 5 hours. So while I was taking the test, I kind of prepared myself to not worry if I passed 85 questions. I was already at question 82 and still have not gotten a calculations question:no: so I was pretty sure I wasn't doing well. My test shut down at 85. I seriously didn't know how to feel after the test ended because I didn't recieve any calculations... I recieved 3 meds questions, 5 SATA, tons of prioritization, and like 3 maternity questions. I know that the number that it stops at does not reflect on whether or not you have passed so we will see how it goes. I have to wait one whole month for my result so I am still trying to keep the faith and positive outlook:wink2:. I really am glad I decided not to push back my date anymore. I wished that I took it sooner. But all is said and done. Please pray for me. I will let you know how it turns out.... Good luck to all who are going to be taking the NCLEX and for those who are waiting for your results. :redpinkhe
