  1. I passed with 75 questions!!! I only used saunders.
  2. My test is tuesday!!! I am so nervous
  3. I work in an LTC for several years and now I am about to graduate from nursing school. I remeber I did get yelled at once for the same thing but it turns out it was an aide who was having a bad day. I confided in another aide who precepted me and she was very nice about it. The best advice I have is to do the best job you can and do whats best for the residents. As far as the other staff, kill them with kindness! As a CENA, you are required to do so much with so little time. I have had to take care of 30 patients by myself before. You just end up learning what corners you can cut and the ones you can't. You never want to cut corners that would influence with your patient care though
  4. The test isn't all that bad. I have to dress my "resident," who had hemiparalysis. I had to measure output and record it on a piece of paper and I had to weigh a patient and record that. At least in MI, after you pass the first part then you go and take a written test. The thing that made me most nervous was that nurse would just sat there and stared at me. Afterwards, though she was really friendly. Good luck to you!
  5. I am graduating in May and I have been working in home care for about 2 years. The company I work for now is trying to get me to become the RN for the company when I graduate. As of right now, they have no Rns. It is a non-medical home care company. They then asked me if I knew an RN who could sign off for a CENA certification that they would pay some money for. My gut instinct is to be very leary of taking this job since I am fresh out of school. They informed me that it is a case manager job, which mainly they say is just opening cases and maybe doing reassessment every 6 months or so. I don't know a lot of the laws regarding home care but it seems like I would have a lot more responsiblity then that. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
  6. I applied for a job, went for the interview and got hired 2 days later! I'm now going to be working as an oncology graduate nurse!
  7. I have a question about taking the test. I graduate this May and was worried about taking the test because I have problems sitting at a computer for long hours and reading whats on the screen. I have had no problems taking test in school or with patient care but ith computers I usually have to enlarge the page or make the font bigger to see. Can you do that for the Nclex? I looked into accomadations but it seems like a lot of paperwork to get, and I dont want anyone thinking I would be an imcompetent nurse.Any advice?
