CRNE June 2012
Omojesu, I am sad to learn of your results. Study tips I used: I started slowly in April. Everyday I would look through some questions and touch up on my class notes on medical conditions. More specifically nursing interventions, complications, s/s. Then from May 1st, I paired with a friend. We would agree on what diseases we would focus on during the day, system by system. In the night, we would discuss overy the phone from every 9pm. Depending on topics covered during the day, we would stay on the phone for 3 to 4 hrs. We did not meet over the phone for only 4 days in total. We also encouraged each other to do as many questions as possible and this improved on our speed. I remember our teacher telling us to work on our speed (the whole class) stating that, not finishing the questions is a disadvantage. 4 days to the exam, we did not meet over the phone but concentrated on areas we felt we needed to seriously individually look at. When we were doing questions, we would also write down what we felt were unique situations and answers and discussed that as well. We were both worried when we came out of the exam; but we both made it. Depending when you want to re-do the exam, I would encourage you to start early, and map out a plan that you will follow. Start with the areas you feel are challenging so that at the end you can go back and revise those areas as well. More importantly find someone to work with, experience has shown me that the more you discuss verbally the more you remember when you come across a similar situation. Hope this helps, and you will do it!

CRNE June 2012
I am grateful to my heavenly Father for granting me a miracle. I lift Him up for granting me success. If it wasn't for the Lord my God, I would have surely failed. I received my results and I passed. To those who did not make it, I encourage you not to give up. Rise up and get to write the next one, you will make it!

How to become a RN when I already have a BSc in Ontario?
Try to look at U of T. I heard from someone who also took your route and went to U of T. They were given 2 yrs to complete their nursing degree --- well because they have a BSc, most of the courses were taken out for them.

Terrible interviewer, what the...?
Yes; I also had the same experience. Went for an interview and the Director of Care kept me waiting for 45 mins. She went through the interview as fast as she could, meanwhile I was in my mind saying --- I do not want to work with disorganized people like this ---. She offered me a job but I turned the offer down, moved on

Canadian Practical Nursing Exam, Sep 10, 2008
I have applied at HFO about 8 jobs; none has called me. Was surprised to hear one of my friends got hired at a hospital after I had applied for the same position; when I asked her, she said she knows somebody who knows somebody who said apply -- you that kind of a thing. Kind of disappointing. I called about 3 of them and was told that the positions being advertised have already been filled. Working at LTC now Part-time but would love to work in the hospital to build up my experience.

Salary for nurses in canada
Guys; I have a question here. I am a new grad (RPN). Recently, I found a job in LTC in Toronto starting at $20.00/hr as casual/part-timer. There are nurses who come to the same place to work from nursing agency and they are getting $25/hr. Are these people cheating me? If so, is it ok to ask them or bring this to their attention before I decide to call it quits? Your advice and input will be appreciated. Thanks

Talk of a miracle! Miracles sure do exist. I personally found the exam so very difficult and it was giving me nightmares. I got my result today and I PASSED. Thank God.

Canadian Practical Nursing Exam, Sep 10, 2008
Does anyone know how they grade the CPNRE? What criteria do they use is it percentage? Average or what? Why do they give trial questions and allocate the same number of time to complete the exam? I wonder if they could consider having the exam in two days and the results by 2 wks. Come-on guys this is all computerised, why does it take so long. It makes me wonder to know that they say they are short on nurses and here we are waiting for months to be licenced its just annoying

Canadian Practical Nursing Exam, Sep 10, 2008
Yes, I also took the exam on Sept 10/08. The first book was a walk through. The second book had me thinking, there was really no need to study at all. Nothing was related to what I had been taught in class.

Hi: I am very pressed by this posting. Nurses should be able to be self employed. Do you mind sending me the e-mail Anne Neilson. I am in Toronto. Thanks
