NP Fellowship program at Emory Hospital Atlanta
Wow! Thanks all for the replies. I thought the pay would be low considering it is a fellowship but I am still interested if accepted.

Are nurses really vulnerable?
Everyone is vulnerable in one way or the other, not necessarily in the general/normal sense of the word. Nurses are exposed to a lot of infectious diseases and other hazards at the work place. I have seen nurses complain about difficult patients who are hard to please and who have on occassions cursed out the nursing staff for no good reasons. As a nurse, you are sure to lose your job or face some kind of disciplinary measures if you cursed back. Now, that is being vulnerable. When a physician, nurse manager/supervisor, or anyone else who assumes some kind of superiority over you speaks disrespectfully to you and you cannot do much about it, that is vulnerability right there. I just need more ideas on how being vulnerable affect communication on a nursing unit. It is not a homework but a discussion question for my class. Thank you so much.

I will like to know your views on this class discussion topic, "How might the willingness to be vulnerable impact communication on a nursing unit?".

Accelerated Nursing programs in Georgia
Did you ask them the school they are affiliated to? I do not remember the name of the school downtown.

Accelerated Nursing programs in Georgia
World Outreach Medical Institute is affiliated to a school in Jamaica, another one in downtown Atlanta is also affiliated to a school in Jamaica. I have concluded that it is better to go to a regular school and do all the pre-reqs and get an admission for Nursing. I am doing the pre-reqs and they are not as bad as i thought, i am actually acing them, tell your friend to give it a try instead of losing money with such private schools.

Accelerated Nursing programs in Georgia
Hello Nkoli, These "bad" schools are still running their programs with the problems they have. I was lucky to find out early before paying any money to them. Right now i am schooling in a community college. One of the schools is on Fairground street in cobb county, can't remember the name, the other is "World Outreach..." with 2 branches, one in Atlanta and the other on Austell rd, cobb county. Maybe they have fixed whatever the problems were but i am not ready for risks.

Accelerated Nursing programs in Georgia
I know about 2 of them in the metro area that are affiliated to west indies and jamaican schools but they are having problems right now. They were offering 9months to 12 months LPN programs and some people already graduated and passed their NCLEX. I know there are others i just don't know where they are. They are private schools. In California, they are everywhere. I will prefer one that has affiliation to a school in the united states.
