  2. Your welcome!! I hope you nail it! I don't know what happened to me, I totally freaked out! I wanted to tell them at the end, "please spare my reputation and do not even send this to the company by ANY means pretend as if it never occurred" For the OSHA and workers comp questions I had a well prepared answer along the lines of " I am not as experienced in workers comp and OSHA regulations, however, I hope that during my orientation I will become familiar with your policy and procedures regarding theses areas. Upon reviewing regulations of workers comp I have gathered the impression that communication is key and even more important is prevention of claims, I am comfortable in knowing that your corporation prizes itself on safety, so I feel as if I will have no trouble quickly catching on" instead .... I believed I replied very bluntly "I don't have any but i hope i can refer to the policies and procedures" which made no sense. I just wish I could go back and do it allllll over again! Let me know how you do!
  3. It went absolutely horrible, barely shy of completely ruining my professional integrity. It was actually one of the most embarrassing moments of my life I do believe! They asked me what I knew about the company. They asked me general questions regarding work experience. Because I am a float nurse they really focused on how much time I spent in the ER and what I did on a average day. What my duties in other parts of the hospital were. They asked about my experience with OSHA and Workman's comp. The 2 biggest questions that totally threw me off and got me all crazy headed and made me have a mini anxiety attack were: Describe a conflict in the workplace that you have experienced, what was your role, how did you deal with it, how was it resolved? and Tell me about a process within your current workplace that you have helped improve, how you were involved, describe your plan, the issue and resolution. They also asked what made me feel as if I was most qualified for the job. What my goals were. I think the reason I did so bad is that it was a phone interview. This company has a contract HR team that conducts a phone interview with each applicant and types it out word for word. They then choose the best interviews and send them to the company, at that point the company makes the decision of who to call for a face to face interview. I hoped that I could be of some assistance for you! Most of all I hope you do better than I did! :))
  4. I have recently applied for a Occupational Health position at a local chemical plant. I have no experience in Occupational health. Only 1 year as a LPN in a nursing home and 2 years as a RN float nurse in the hospital setting, I believe my experience as a float nurse will be beneficial because I have acute care experience as well as managment and treatment experiance that Med Surg offers. I am currently in BSN school and will graduate in Decemeber with hopes of starting a masters program the following semester if accepted. I have a interview sceduled in 3 days and I am looking for suggestions of what to expect and how to increase my chances of getting the position with no experience in this field. I hope that my ambitions of returning to school will be a plus. I have researched a little about OHN and have concluded that one of the most important qualities is working independently. Any suggestions of what to expect and what I should know about OHN for the interview? Thanks!
  5. I am planning to apply Spring 2011. I will graduate with my BSN in Decemeber. my GPA is 3.4 however I did horrible on the GRE, I didn't even make the minimum requirement (shame) I have to retake it in a couple of weeks. I was wonder if you had an idea about how hard it is to get into the FNP track?
  6. i need some advise!! i am so stressed.. i have been at my current job for 3 months. i work labor and delivery/ post partum and :heartbeatlove my job:redbeathe! i work 12 hour night shift in which i do not like.. so i have been offered a 8-5 m-f job making 6 dollars more and hour:twocents:!! i don't think i will enjoy my job as much as i enjoy l&d but i am 38 weeks pregnant and about to have my first child. 8-5 m-f is the same schedule my husband has and i know it will be better for my family!! my current employer has been so good to me, they hired me knowing i was pregnant and willing to hold my job when i go on maternity leave and i assured them that i would return promptly. if i take the current offer i have told them that i can't start until 8 weeks post partum (6 weeks maternity and giving my current employer 2 working weeks after maternity leave) and they are okay with that. i don't know what to do!!! i feel so bad because for .1. i have only been there for 3 months and .2. i would be leaving after maternity leave.. i don't want to burn any bridges where i am at.. any advise???
  7. i guess my program was just held to a very high standard and i thought i wasn't getting high level questions because...... :yeah:i passed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. so here i am exactly a year later from taking lpn boards feeling 20 times worse! i took nclex rn yesterday after completing a lpn to rn bridge program. i sit down at the computer with sweaty palms an a ulcer! throughout the test i didn't think the questions where hard. when i got to 74 i prayed that the computer would not shut off because i didn't feel as if i was able to show my true potential and competence as a nurse, and what happened? it shut off! i know that there is absolutely no way i passed, the questions where too easy i just didn't know the answer and felt as if i should of known it. after pn boards i felt 50/50 i didn't rule out passing. but right now i feel that there is no hope because the questions where to easy. everyone tells me that if the questions are hard that's a good sign. i didn't think the questions where hard, i felt as if i should have known the answer but just didn't know it. i could always narrow it down to two answers. i have read post all day yesterday and have seen many on low level vs high level but i wasn't able to find a clear answer. i had a lot of priority, staffing, delegation, tons of infectious control, and 10 sata, and alot of pharm. i am also concerned because people have told me "there where drugs on there i had never heard of" well i had heard of every drug i just didn't know the answer does this mean this is a low level question or maybe because i was already an lpn i was more conscience about the drug name? i knew what the drug was and what it was commonly used for but the side effects that i looked for where not an option!! any advise? just an encouraging word?
  9. I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bowingpur:bow::roll:roll:yelclap::loveya::bbykck::mkjdnc::clpty::clphnds::lghmky::prdnrs:wine:mchmrdnc::hpygrp:
  10. That was so amazing. Thanks for sharing!:redpinkhe
  11. I just took boards 1/10/08 so I feel your pain. If you have prepared for awhile you should do fine. I was told in a NCLEX review coorifice that going into testing with a positive attitude of "I'm going to pass" increases your chances of passing by 10%!!!!!
  12. Still no results It has been 96 hours!!!!
  13. I'm sorry to hear of your not passing. So you got your results today. I took mine on the 10th as well and I havn't gotten my results my state doesn't offer pearsonvue quick results either so I was just curious?
  14. Thank you bunches! I'm just stressed because I start school Tuesday and I have to have my results before then or I lose my spot in the program. In addition, This LPN/RN transitition is very hard to get into and now that I have a chance I don't want to blow it! Thanks for all of your help.
  15. thanks for the reply, my state dose not offer quick results from pearson vue. I know that NCLEX information states that the number of questions you get is not a measure results but does missing the last question mean anything?
