Sorry did not elaborate about the offer. Anyway, the agency will be deploying me in Dar Al Fouad Hospital. I searched for the hospital in the internet and saw that it was JCI accredited. The contract will be two years, which is renewable. They don't require working experience, though the salary is only $500-600. We will be trained when we get there and be assigned to the area which fits our capabilities. The agency has already deployed 95 nurses this year in the same hospital. I have already submitted my requirements, just waiting for the approval of Hospital Director. After that I will be interviewed online and if all goes well, be offered the job. If I accept, I would have to process my papers for working visa, pay the placement fee and medical then leave. Is this ok? Thanks for the reply!!!

Thank you very much for all the information. Now I know that what they are doing is illegal. They are trying to take advantage of the nurses here who are desperate, it's a good thing I asked for advice on this in this forum. I came across this agency - VisionQwest Healthcare Services in the newspaper. Their ad said that for those nurses who have successfully passed their Ca NCLEX exam, the agency can help them claim your Ca License and Certificate from the Ca Board of Nursing by applying for your SSN/ITIN thru the agency. Is this possible? that even if I am still in the Philippines, I can get my SSN/ ITIN? I called their office and they said that I would have to pay $300+ for the SSN/ITIN. I tried to search the net for info on this one but I could not find one. Thank you very much for any information. Have a great day!!!

Thanks again for the replies!!!! I guess I have to look for online CEUs to complete my renewal requirements. I also want to ask if I could take all the 30 contact hours requirement online? And also, since my NM license expires on March 31, 2009, when should my CEUs expire? I browsed some CEUs online and I found some that expire around April 2009, would this be alright? or I should look for CEUs that expire in 2010??? Thanks!!! Really appreciate all of your help!!! Hello!!! I have a New Mexico license that will expire next year. I am now undergoing training in Philippine General Hospital (APCN). This is accredited by PRC for 960 hours since this is for 6 months. Could this be valid to satisfy my continuing education requirement of 30 hours for New Mexico? Are other seminars of training in the Philippines valid for CE? Or do i have to take CE online? Thanks for the reply. Have a great day!!!

I am also interested in working in Australia. Would it be possible for me to process my application directly to the Nursing Council? I specifically want to try in Queensland because someone told me that it is ok even of I do not have work experience as long as I pass the Competency Exam (Part A and B). Anyone tried processing the application on their own? If you could share your experience here, that would be great! Also if anyone knows about the Competency Exam? I attended the seminar of this Consultancy last March 13. A friend of mine just texted me about the seminar. As much as I liked the idea that the Consultancy presented, I am kind of skeptical about this Consultancy. I also have been trying to research about them but I couldn't find anything. I was also not satisfied with the way the seminar was conducted. They had a powerpoint presentation which was more about Australia (places, tourist attractions, wildlife, etc), instead of discussing the process itself. I was also a little disappointed because they did not give us a copy of the breakdown of expenses to be paid and when we are supposed to pay it. Also, they failed to provide us with an outline or instructions on the steps that we would undergo. But they did tell us that they are just going to send these to out emails. I did receive the email yesterday, but still I just want to make sure that this is legitimate. If anyone could give me any feedback about this Consultancy, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, I would like to ask our moderators if there is a way to check if a Consultancy is legitimate? Are they also registered in the POEA (Philippine Overseas & Employment Agency) just like Recruitment Agencies? Because someone told me that since they do not give "job offers" they are not registered in the POEA, is that right? Thank you very much for all of your help! God Bless!!!
