  6. hey guys, have not written in a while but, have always checked allnurses out thruought nursing school. however just wanted to let u all know took boards today at 8 and did leave until little past 2. the machine kicked out 230 ?'s and i was freaking out! i mean i literally got up like 3,4,5 times almost in tears but, i had to pull myself toghether and do what i set out to do and also what the lord had planned for me. i left that site almost in tears and sooo darn nervous it almot felt as if a whole was burning in the pit of my chess. i got home and talked with my classmate that told me to do the pvt and yes, i got the good pop up 3 times which relieved me a bit and now i'm simply waiting for my results and yes fingers still crossed because that test was grueling!!!!!!!!!! not that hard but was always stuck between 2 choices. let u know my results!!!!!!!!:nurse::yeah:
  7. has anyone had pamela thorpe for nsg 221 if so how is she or what have u heard about her because i am going to have her for 222 and i wanted to know if she is a ok teacher or not:bugeyes:

  11. :clown:hey guys, i have finally started nursing school aug 21, and i am 4 months pregnant and always sooooo tired. it is actually ok, i just have bad nursing sickness. well the good thing i guess is that the first 2 classes are very basic and not hard at all and actually alot of the fundamental stuff is really common sense stuff but, not to underestimate u still need to study. well just wanted to say hello to everyone and the real work is about to begin and i will chat with u all when i can to tell u all about what's going on. i forgot to mention i have 2 great teachers at hfcc so for me right now all is well and just pray for me the my prgnancy allows me to finish without taking off. talk with u later:p
  12. hey guys, i think pm clinicals is going to be great, right along with ns period. I think that we all need to get ready for the most REMARKABLE RIDE OF OUR LIVES. I think that it will be lots of work but, also fun and enjoying at the same time. I also think that our pm clinicals will be just fine, i guess it all depends on our instructors(u know) Good luck to all and ill see u all in orientation Aug 4 and i am in sec 02 also
  13. this is going to be mines to LOL i appreciate
  14. I apprciate your advice and everything you said makes great since and yes it is all something to think about which i have and that's why i have come to the descision to continue on with school. I know me and what i can pull off (you know). I'm up everyday taking the kids to school which isn't going to stop because of the snow, pregnancy, etc... you what i mean. continuing school for 2 1/2 months isn't going to hurt anything until break for summer. My child will around 61/2 months when i put him/her in daycare for tthe 2 days a week, when i return at the end of August 09. So once again i know that i will be just fine there are plenty that has done it before me and will contiue to do it after me without missing a beat. I am simply a very determined, motivated get right down to it kind of person and i like to just get the job done right away as long as it isn't getting in the way of me taking care of my family. However thanks for your advice it was greatly appreciated but yes i will continue school as long as god permits and graduate with my class. Now it would have been a different story had the baby come while i was in the middle of the program or even if i had remain in the program at henryford hospital which ran for a straight 16 months then i would have been in trouble hahah. So i thank god that my baby is arriving at the end of my first year and that i will have the summer off to spend alot of time with my family and also go on vacation so i guess that is the part that saved me with my prgnancy. nice chatting with u and i know that i will survive i just feel it!!!! Nursing school here i come! :Dand my baby is even more motivation for all those who feel ithat it is impossible;)
  15. i'm sorry if u feel that im attacking but, truthfully i am really not i mean i get sick and tired of people trying to make others feel as though certain things are soo impossible when in fact they are so simple once coming up with a gang plan. Yes i know that your words were encouraging and i felt that they were thats why i told u plenty of times that i appreciate and for my message i just wanted to make sure that u understood me and my situation not getting me mixed up with anyone else that u may have encountered in the past because as we all know all situations are different and no one at all control your destiny but u Yes i appreciate your comment, and yes i might have gotten a little offensive due to the fact that i did just find out that i am pregnant a couple of days ago and i was stressing over it so, i over reacted a little. and for that i apologize but i stand by everything that i said Once agai appreciate your words were definitely encouraging i also went to the forums to read other success stories which totally made me feel awhole lot better thank u:jester:
  16. Told u that u would love this web cite. I try to get on it a couple of times thru the week And yes i would name my little girl KHLOE and if its a boy i dont know oh i forgot the other name i like for a girl which is Lindsy Ill figure it out soon enough but, meantime we have to study our pharmacology for our 1st pharm test (hahah) ok honey talk to u in a couple of days and call me if u come up with an easier route with the pharm.
  17. h[color=sandybrown]ey thanks for the success story , greatly appreciate but, 1 thing that ****** me off is someone telling me that "there is no way that this is possible" no one tells me what is not possible but, jesus christ and further more the lord will not put anything on a person that they cannot handle. [color=sandybrown]not to mention u must not have read what was really going on because yes i have a great support system and also a great husband and also my baby is due the end of february and my husband is taking off until the end of the semester which is may 12 then its smmer break for 4 months so, how is that not possible. [color=#f4a460]i have 2 other childern and believe u me i know what to do and how to do it. the only rough part for me will be dropping my children off in the morning at school which is still not that difficult once i get my routine down pat. other than that the lord seen to it that my baby was right on time not effecting school not one bit other than taking off a week or two when i actually give birth. [color=#f4a460]i know several people who have done it with no help and also worked full time so my advice to u would be to think before u say something that sounds a bit off the wall. [color=#f4a460]and i'm really not being funny by no means that just ****** me off and yes i appreciate the success story at the end of it all but like i said your comment stating that " no way is this possible" ****** me off as if i were a child with no sense and a single parent with 6 kids [color=#f4a460]like i said thanks appreciate:yawn:
  18. :DAw u made me cry, that was sweet words of encouragement and yes I know i'll be just fine i'm just going to start buying a couple of things for the baby now because i have all my school stuff already. I just need to get some new clinical uniforms due to the baby but, other than that i'll be just fine Thank u for the sweet encouraging words:yeah:
  19. Once again thanks guys for the info and yes i do believe that i'll be just fine or should i say i know that i'll be alright this is my third child so i really believe that i'll only take off 1 week due to the fact that my husband is going to take off until the end of school which will be may12 and the baby is due around the 2nd week in feburary The good thing is that we have summers off at hfcc so, i'll be good and adjusted with my studies i just hope and pray that my pregnancy goes well which it should (hopefully) My first two were natural full term births (No C-Sections). So i just really have to find a good daycare for when i return off summer break for 9 months for the 2 days we are n class a week which is going to be o.k due to the fact that 1 day is a short day and the other is a long day. Once again thanks for every bit of advice and i know for a fact that i will be o.k I'm soooo glad that we have the summer of because if we didn't i don'y know what i would do so it all works. More than anything i'm glad that the baby will be coming towards the end of class at the end of my first year so yeah!!!!!! Itll be 1 year down and 1 more to go so i can deal with that. I'm soo happy, i was upset at first but, once i sat and thought about everything and formed my gang plan i was much happier so, now i'm very excited seeing how everything will still work out just fine without the baby altering everything.
  20. could u explain, what kind of flak from the front office. im not being funny but, what could they possibly say (you know). i mean i'm grown and i do what i want so what could possibly be the problem. and like i said i'm not being funny it just seems a bit strange ( you understand what i'm saying?)
  21. i'm sorry i'm 6 weeks i was typing so fast i missed the error i'm 6 weeks
  22. hey guys, i need advice from anyone who has gone thru same or similar situation. i just found ot that i'm 6 months prerganant and i start thr nursing program at hfcc in august. the baby is due like the middle of febuary so i figure i can afford to miss like a week which wouldn't be a problem and also school gets out may 12 for the summer so i figure that it wouldn't be too bad. my husband is going to take off work for those couple of months until school let out and by the time schhol starts back up august 21 i'll have the baby in daycare for the 2 days i'm in class. and i'm also doing night clinicals so that i wouldn't need daycare for 4 days. sorry for putting my business out there just nervous; this was a total shock. but i need advice from anyone who has gone thru it. it does not seem as if it will be a problem. taking off a semester is not an option i am determined to finish on time and truthfully this situation is by no means undoable {you know) i also feel that i will be settled in my studies meaning i'll have my studying methods down pack and will know how exactly to manage my time well by the time the baby comes so any advice will be greatly apprciated i am still going to get in school and rock it!!! not to mention i have an awesome husband who definitely has my back thanks for all advice:imbar:jester:
  23. i appreciate your attitude and i wish u all well. i know that u will do well because yes it is almost like a given but, however saty on top of your studies and make sure that u study a couple of hours a day and i know that u will do well good luck! and its funny because my first two teachers for 120 and 126 are still (moderator edit of instructor names) lol (moderator edit of instructor name) said the program is the exact same as the hospital and that they follow all of the same guidelines as far the school material goes. so once again i believe that they are doing whatever is necessary for the students to pass and be successful that is if we do our part. so yes they are the exact same other than your program is straight thru and mines have a break and also shorter days good luck and keep me updated on everything i'm soooooo excited for u all:d
  24. yes i know i'm a little late also but, yes i aactually started the program at the hospital dor two weeks then i quit it do to the fact that they had many stipulations to their program and with them paying for the program. which alot of people don't know about. it was simply just tooo much they expected of u and for any reason if u didn't comply u had to pay the money back. if u failed a class then u were kicked out and u had to pay the money back not only that if u were to get kicked out u had only 10 days to give them back there money. i mean for some they might not care but, for me it wasn't that serious u have to know all of the rules and stipulations to understand what i'm talking of. and to top it off they were not flexible at all as far as pm clinicals u know. u are in class from 8am to 5pm mon thru wed and sometimes 8am to 8pm i mean the hours are just too long. don't get me wrong had it fit my schedule and it wasn't so many stipulations i would have gone thru it. i wasn't that desperate, especially since i'm alreday established with a good job soo i just told the dean at the school that i would start at the college in aug like i originally planned it is great that the program is at the hospital so i do tell all who can do it and don't care about the stipulations to do it and another thing was that i wasn't abale to work contingent for the 3 years once finished with the program it is simply alot for people to think about if u can do it, and it fits your needs go for it!!!!! because u will definitely do well they offer all the help in the world to get u thru. good luck to alll:yeah: and for u who will be in, in aug see u there:nurse:
