you would chart it like you would any progress note, just describe the events and interventions. Also, patient doesn't have to be a diabetic to check his or her sugar, checking the sugar can just be done as a baseline, like vital signs.
  2. In our facility we have 4/5 patients on tele and usually 5/6 maybe 7 on med surge depending on the census and staffing. yes, we would cover the Lvn if need be.
  3. Hello I currently work per diem at a acute care hospital in California that utilizes LVN's on the Tele and medsurge floor and also in the ED. In my hospital in my opinion it works out great working with them on the floor, they are knowledgeable, helpful, and know their scope of practice. They help out with patient care, do all the accuchecks, can start IV's, and assist with discharging patients which is a huge plus in my hospital. It's the little things that make a huge difference. I say bring them back at a fair pay, one of the biggest problems is they try to lowball the LVN's a bit too much, and it's insulting. Some hospitals I have heard would actually pay CNA's more than a LVN.
  4. I agree, I am so tired of nurses and non nurses negativity about Lvn's/Lpn's not being real nurses.
  5. bills, bills, uniforms, groceries, and bills
  6. For me I want to have better job opportunities and of course be able to advance in my field of choice so I am currently in a rn program!!! And nursing is my dream
  7. that depends on what pre reqs you have done if you meet all the requirements then yes but if not you have to do the two years
  8. yes the meetings are held in aug/feb on tues, thurs. tues @4 and thurs @100pm i just went yesterday.
  9. hi yes i went to a info session yesterday and what i can tell you is that the school is accredited but there classes are only transferable to other private universities basically, like university of phoenix. anyways the program is $57,000 and it will be less if you are an LVN. you can transfer in classes from community college which will bring tuition down even more, like me i am LVN so my price will be less and time in program will be 4 months less because of the lvn. they have lvn program too but i dont know cost.
  10. hi i was wondering how long is the lvn to rn program? i did attend a seesion for information back in aug but all my paper work got lost, i know program is about 57, 000. thanks, i just can not remember how long if you have lvn, i know they said my cost would be much less because i have majority of pre reqs and general ed done
