How can i prepare while i wait to start?
I am also waiting to start at the end of March. I bought the cliffs notes for A&P and have been going over that just to refresh my memory. I have also seen several books at the bookstore that teach you study techniques, etc. I sat in the bookstore the other day for like 6 hours and read a really good one called "Nursing student Success Made Incredibly Easy". I also saw one called "How to survive and maybe even Love Nursing School". Im not sure if these books will help but they do help settle my nerves a little bit! Another great piece of advice given to me recently is to begin looking up specific diseases and learning the normal anatomy of the organ or system affected and how the disease changes it, also list the signs and symptoms and the nursing dx for the disease. "Daytonite" has a great flow sheet you can download and use for this on this forum. I definatley recommend reading all of her posts. She gives wonderful advice!!! Good luck to all those starting their program soon!!!

Asing this question again...........
Hi! I am 32. I have been working a clerical position in a medical office for over 12 years. I have always known that I wanted to become a nurse, just couldnt seem to get there. I have been in and out of school for at least ten years!!! Just couldnt get my act together for a long time! But I've finally made it and will be starting my program in March! I am really nervous because I took a lot of my pre reqs a long time ago but I am trying to stay positive and hopeful that my journey will be over soon!!! Good luck to everyone!!!

Accepted!!!
Soccerfan: We are on quarters so they admit 80 students every March and 80 every September. My GPA was a 3.4 but the lowest accepted was a 3.1 and if you transfer to Wright State, your previous GPA is forgiven and they base your acceptance on Wright State GPA for the first 30 hours only, which really helped me because I really messed up at my old school!!! Wright State has an awesome nursing program and the whole department is wonderful and VERY helpful. Good Luck to you!!!

After graduation...what's the REAL story?
I have a question about this: how do you get this Sign on bonus? Is it spread out over time? Or is it one lump sum when you start?

Studying
Hi! I am a current Nursing student and wanted to ask all of you who have actually completed school- How did you study??? It has been a while since I was in school and I know that studying for Nursing classes is much different than studying for other classes. what were some of your study habits? I took a pathophysiology class the last quarter I was in school and did not do too well because I didnt know how to study. We had to learn all the processes of the body and that info doesnt fit on a notecard! Any suggestions??? Thanks! wendy

Jobs while in school??
Hi! I am new to this forum and was wondering what kind of job everyone has while in school? I am currently awaiting my acceptence letter for a Spring 08 entry into Nursing school and I am freaking out about working full time while trying to do Nursing school. I dont want to mess this up since it has taken me so long to get to this point! I'm not sure if i should continue working, try cutting my hours, or take out a bunch of student loans and not work at all if possible. What does everyone else do? does anyone else struggles with this issue? I really cannot afford not to work. how do people do this?
