I took my NCLEX-PN on Monday April 6th. As of today.....Wednesday May 20th.....I still have no results!!!!!!

Hello Everyone! I'm a recent San Diego LVN graduate. Took my NCLEX-PN April 6th and I'm still waiting for my results from the BVNPT. They are taking longer than usual to process NCLEX results due to budget cuts and a whole lot of LVN's graduating in California. The second comment might help explain why there are so few LVN jobs out there, not to mention that most hospital's are only hiring RN's these days. It eliminates the confusion of what "nurse" can do what. I guess it makes sense to only hire nurses who can do "everything" in the hospital, but it doesn't help us new LVN grads find work. I also read that because of the economy....a lot of retired nurses have joined the work force again....and let's face it.....they have the experience. It is very frustrating to come this far.......and not be able to find a job. I'm just going to wait until I receive my results, then my licenses, and hit the ground running with a smile and positive attitude. Good things come to good people. I hear ya!!!!! That's great that you can advance with your current employer. I happen to work for a Home Health agency that doesn't employ LVN's out of their San Diego office.....so I have to find a new place to work. Even though the Pearson Vue trick does not allow me to re-register, I want to make sure that I passed before applying for a position. I would hate to have to tell a perspective employer "Oh....sorry, I can't start work because I failed my NCLEX". I'd rather wait until I know I passed.

A classmate of mine called the BVNPT several times the last couple of weeks to find out why it was taking so long for Cali NCLEX-PN takers to get their results. She was told that there are only two people who process the NCLEX-PN results for the entire state of California.....and now you add that they only work 4 days a week. No wonder it took her 41 days to get her letter that she passed. I hope I get mine soon.....I really want to start looking for a job!!!!!!

Okay with all the stress....I mixed my dates up. I took the NCLEX-PN on Monday APRIL 6th.....not May 6th!!!!

vic_66: I think that you are correct.....I don't think LVN's can check a website for NCLEX results. I think the website being referenced is for RN's only. I called the BVNPT to inquire what date of NCLEX results are being processed today.....but after holding for 25 min (long distance) I gave up and hung up. I took my NCLEX-PN on Monday May 6th. That's 8 days after you....so that tells me I still have at least another week to wait.....arrgh!!!! 36 days and waiting...........

I think that it is unfair for California NCLEX-PN exam takers to have to wait 5 to 6 weeks to obtain test results from the BVNPT. I mean......come on!!! It's bad enough that in California we are unable to receive "unofficial" results from Pearson Vue within 48 hours.....but to make us wait 35 to 42 days for NCLEX results that the BVNPT received the same day of our exam is unacceptable. We ALL need to contact Teresa Bello-Jones, Executive Officer of the BVNPT, and voice our outrage with the "process". If state cut backs has created the backlog.......then at least institute the 48 hour "unofficial" results option in California. We have done our part..... fullfilled our educational requirement, paid our fees, studied our butts off for the NCLEX......just give us our results!!!!!!

Just sending out results for March 17th!!!!!!:angryfire That's just wrong.......wrong I say!!! That means that we (California LVN students) can all expect a 5 week wait to get our results. Geeez....as if waiting 4 weeks wasn't hard enough.

Hey rachpeeps: The waiting is killing me too!!! I was so hoping that you would have received your letter on Monday. Knowing that I took the test 2 weeks after you......and you still don't have your results yet only means that I still have a long time to wait for mine!!!! Why does Cali have to be the only state to take this long?!?!

Hello All: I'm a recent grad from LVN school and waiting to take the NCLEX. I was hired by a nursing registry two weeks ago to work as a CNA until I receive my LVN license. This is my first working experience as a CNA. I am shocked at the level of disrespect I have received from the employed LVN's and RN's at the multiple facilities I have worked at. I have not disclosed at any assigments that I am a LVN graduate, I just show up as a CNA and ask for my assignment. I have been talked down to, ignored by most when I ask a question, or for their help, and of course I have been assigned the most difficult of patients/residents. I understand that some of this has to do with the fact that I work for a registry and am not an employee of the facility. I guess my point for sharing this is..............isn't nursing all about the patient? Does it not take the entire team (CNA's, LVN's, RN's, MD's, etc...) to provide quality healthcare? As much as licensed nurse's don't appreciate being talked down to, or mistreated by MD's.....let me please remind you all that CNA's don't deserve it either. The past two weeks has been an eye opener for me, and the experience I am gaining will only make me a better nurse. I have great respect for CNA's that do their job well. Please show them the appreciation and respect they deserve. :redbeathe tlombardi

Hello Everyone! I am 45 years old....and starting my last of three semesters of LVN school. Finally on the home stretch! My original plan was to attend RN school, but in San Diego there is a 3 year wait for the Associate RN Programs. I choose to get my LVN and then I will work on the transition to RN. I attend a vocational LVN program that is 18 months long. This program has allowed me to pay for school out of pocket and not take on any debt, as well as "no wait." They only accept 60 students a year and over 375 applied. The entrance exam to get in was brutal.....but I made it. We lost several students the 1st semester. They didn't pass A&P. I have completed clinical rotations in Oncology, Ped's, OB, L&D, and Med Surg. This final semester we will do Leadership/Mentoring to the new incoming class of students in addition to our academic & clinical requirements. I'm looking forward to the start of my new career and fulfilling my dream of 30+ years.......being a "Nurse". It has been a long journey, but one that I would not trade for anything. The saying...."Life begins at 40" has proved to be true for me. Good luck to all of you!
