  1. Is a new grad program preferable over Staff Nurse I (right out of graduation)? Thanks.
  2. What is the difference between a new grad program versus just finding a job after graduation that's not a new grad program? THanks!
  3. I prefer small-town country-ish/rural type settings. I am just wondering... are there actually RN jobs in these areas also? Or does the nursing shortage myth also apply to places like Stockton, Fresno, Visalia, Tulare, Bakersfield? Responses from people who have tried to find jobs in these areas are appreciated, since you know full well what the job market is like. Thanks!
  4. I don't think it exists "fully" online since there is a mandatory lab portion. Sorry.
  5. Thanks all for the input... I'm thinking going for ADN route so I'll owe NOTHING when I come out, then work on a RN-BSN program & have employer pay for it.... I just hate owing money... I hate debt, period.
  6. Any feedback on whether it is easier to land a job after graduation, having an ADN vs. BSN?
  7. Thanks everyone, for answering. The person who told me was a former RN student, but didn't finish the program. She said that she thought this was the case back in the mid 90's.... I let her know that it doesn't matter ADN or BSN. Thanks everyone for your replies!

  9. Someone told me that an ADN trained nurse cannot hang IV medications... only a BSN trained nurse can.....is this true? Please clear up. Thank you.
  10. Is it true that ADN's cannot hang IV medication? Someone told me this was the only difference with BSN vs. ADN trained nurses... Please clarify... thanks!
  11. I know I am poor enough to qualify for all the available aid out there, but I was wondering.... in your experience.... *Is fianancial aid helping out with your 2nd bachelors?? *Did you have to go through an appeals process for financial aid to help with grants/fee waivers/loans for your 2nd bachelors?? *Did you qualify for a FEE WAIVER at all? I have NEVER taken out a loan for school, so I currently owe NOTHING. I was told by one school that I would have to go through APPEALS to get any type of assistance with financial aid... this really sucks, since I am not even guaranteed any type of package if I were to pursue a 2nd bachelors at this particular school... FOR THOSE IN A MASTERS PROGRAM..... *Is financial aid helping out? *Is the amount they are helping enough to get you through school? *Are they providing grants/fee waivers/loans?? (any or all?) Financial Aid assistance will partially determine if I will choose a 2nd accelerated BSN or an Entry Level Masters program.... If more help is provided with one over the other, that is the degree I will probably go toward, since I am tight on money. I am most interested in finding out about FEE WAIVERS and if anyone has been offered any type of them. I know students with low enough income can qualify. Also, I know loans are available, but since I owe nothing in educational loans, I don't want to over-do the borrowing thing.... Please HELP... any advice is appreciated :)
  12. So how's Adamson coming along? I hear he's a nightmare, and this is from GOOD students who say this.... maybe u might have a different opinion? Well thanks for all the replies & tips everyone... I really appreciate it.
  13. registered for Costa for Spring 2008, he be doing both lecture & lab - just not sure what 2 expect... any tips?
  14. I delivered at St. Mary's... postpartum experience (as a patient) was great! Would go back there anyday.
  15. yeah, I've heard the horror stories... I heard Costa is tricky... so does this mean an 'A' is do-able in his anatomy class?
