  1. Is anyone else having problems accessing the course for patho? I was able to access the class before Jan 1st but when I signed in today it shows I am registered but the link is grayed out! This has me worried...and of course I tried calling the program manager but it went straight to voicemail.
  2. Congrats on your acceptance into Frontier!
  3. I don't think the intent to enroll is binding. I called my advisor and informed her that I decided to go with another school (my 1st choice) and she thanked me for letting her know. She also told me that if I change my mind, I can always come back to Maryville.
  4. That sounds great! Maybe start a FB group for those starting in Spring '13
  5. Hi! I just received notification that I too have been accepted into the Spring 2013 FNP program! I am so excited. I also got accepted into Maryville University but I am leaning more towards UC. I look forward to this new journey in my life and would love to make new friends along the way!
  6. So, now I have found out I have also been accepted into University of Cincinnati...I think I will accept the Univ. of Cincinnatti because it was my first choice. Both programs costs around the same amount but UC is also affiliated with my place of employment so it should be a little easier to find preceptors when it comes time for clinicals!
  7. My coworker is in the first semester and he says the program is doable while working. The first few weeks are a little overwhelming but he says it gets easier as the time progresses. So, I'm preparing myself to get into the "school mode" mindframe right now before January starts.
  8. Hi! I have also been accepted into the Spring 2013 FNP Maryville University class. I haven't turned in my intent to enroll as of yet. I do plan on faxing it to my advisor sometime in November. I am still waiting to hear from University of Cincinatti as well, but I don't think I will have much luck with that school. I have heard they are no longer accepting applicants for Florida residents. I am cool with Maryville though because I have a fellow employee that just started in August so he can help me along the way. Good luck and let us know which school you decided on!
  9. Between $24-25
  10. Night shift diff id as follows for ORMC: 7p-11p is $4.50, 11p-7am is $9.75 and weekend is $3.60. Florida hospital told me the shift diff is 13% to 16% of your pay (was offered 22.67 for 2 years exp). I have my AND so maybe they pay more for a bachelors. The floor I interviewed for was a neuro progressive care unit. So when the hiring manager said that I would have 4 neuro patients (stroke=total care) with no techs I souldnt believe it. At ORMC there are techs and u get 5 patients sometimes 6 on a med surg floor.
  11. Not sure if its easy to transfer but I know their pay sucks! I have been a nurse for 2 years on a progressive care unit and applied for a similar floor @ Florida hospital (I'm relocating). They wanted to offer me 22.67 for a progressive care floor with 4 patients and no techs!! I was like are u serious??? So now I've accepted a position @ ORMC on a med surg floor. Their night shift diff is great. Florida hospital only pays a % for nights.
  12. Chamberlain had a representative at my employment two weeks ago. I was inquiring about the RN-BSN program and the costs. They stated the cost was $575 per credit hour and it included most of your books. So it is a hefty price! Not sure how much it is for the traditional RN program.
  13. i passed.....!!!! i took the exam on july 6th (monday) with 265 questions and 5 hours long. i had a ton of sata, 6 drug calc, lots of priority and infection control. i tried the pearson trick and it won't let me re-register!!! yippee......i also checked the florida test website and it says in bold letters...pass....... i'm so excited...i thought for sure i had failed because i kept getting the same questions but worded a different way. god truly answers prayers! for those of you who live in florida, you can use this website to find out your results without having to pay the quick results fee! http://ww2.doh.state.fl.us/onlinetestnet/default.aspx
  14. Hi everyone! I took the NCLEX RN exam today at 11:00. I had all 265 questions and finished in 5 hours! I was so distraught and depressed when I finished the exam. After I had got to question 150 I was ready to give up because I figured I had already failed and what's the use. but I went ahead and finished the exam. I had around 30 SATA, numerous priority ?'s, drug calcs, and a lot of diseases and meds I've never even heard of. Then I figured I definitely failed because I kept getting the same questions but worded a different way. Well I just tried the Pearson trick and it gave me the pop up! It didn't allow me to go to the credit card page. I am in disbelief. i don't know if I should believe this trick or not. i don't want to get too happy but I pray to God that the trick actually works! pray for me! i'll let you know my results as soon as I do! Good luck to those that haven't taken it or are retaking the exam. you can do it!!!
  15. does anyone have any advice as to if a question comes up on the test about a med you have no clue what it is, how to select the best answer?
