  1. Oh no, sorry if I didn't make my question clear, but I meant the "required" courses "prior" to getting into a CRNA program, like taking the science classes.
  2. Thank a lot Sir and Tweety! So once I'm a RN, I am still able to go to college to take my classes required for CRNA, right? So once I send in my application for CRNA school, do I then start taking the required classes or do I take them before I apply? Would taking those clases require me to major in something? Also do I have to be on campus for them or online? (Which one would a CRNA program prefer? Hands on or Online?) Thanks a lot you guys!
  3. Okay, Right after high school, its possible to get my BSN right? While getting my BSN I am still taking my courses required for CRNA? I'm just wondering, because I'm seeing a lot of programs that offer "RN-to-BSN" why not just get BSN?
  4. Okay, I am back! I have a question on the ICU, what type of ICU should I have experience in? I went to the "Critical Care Nursing" part of the site and I see there are different type of ICU. Which one what a person who wants to pursue a career in CRNA experience in? I actually heard the "surgery" once, but I'm not sure whats the name of it. Well if anyone knows, just let this craving mind know.
  5. Thank you so much! I really appreciate your time to answer my questions. I will come back to this post if I have any more questions, once again thank you! :thankya:
  6. I really can't answer your question, but I do advice for you to calm down. There are to many things going on in your head, breath.
  7. I am doing this essay for a speech class of mine, and I want to become a CRNA, but the reason I don't know why. I love helping people, I'd like to show my patients compassion and humor especially before they under go surgery, making them feel a little better and a lot less nervous. I am fascinated what anesthesia can do the the human body, paralyzing them temporarily with conscious or no conscious. But why exactly would someone want to become a CRNA, besides the fact that they make a lot of money. (Since a lot of the CRNA/Anes. I've encountered seem to have taken that path for the money, and they seem to have a very cold personality, like they don't like what they are doing) So for all the CRNA's out there, why did you become a CRNA and what do you love about your job? Thanks a bunch!
  8. Okay, now i'm very confusing. (sorry) Does this mean I have to go to nursing school AND college at the same time? I thought nursing school gave you classes like sciences. So do I have to major in something in college and get my BSN in nursing school? That would be a lot of money and time, how would I possibly study for one school when I'm attending another school. -Confused Boy
  9. Exactly! I want to become a CRNA, and I've always told my self, I am going to give myself at least 2 years in the RN world, then maybe..maybe I might go into the CRNA (If I am ready, and feel confident) If not, I'll probably stay in the RN world a little longer. My mom says why not speed up the process and get to the CRNA program (lol, she loves the idea that i'll be making over a 100,000 grand a year) But seriously I would have chosen to pursue Anesthesiology as a career, but I really don't mind given the same quality at a lower price. I want my patients to receive compassion from me and get that nice feeling most people get from nurses.
  10. Okay, thats a tad confusing. I thought you didn't have to have a MSN, or does going into the CRNA program result in MSN? Also, a tiny question, is the CRNA's job really busy? For some reason I just like doing a lot of paper work and talking to people about medical stuff, I just like to be a busy guy! lol. I've been exposed as a child to a lot of paper work, medicine, and a lot of things.
  11. Hey there! I had some question, I wanted to know how to become a CRNA, I know I need to get my BSN, and must be a RN, but how do I get RN once I get my BSN? Also, I believe you have to work in an acute care environment or something for 2 years or so, what exactly is acute care? Or is it another type of environment? Any more info?
  12. Thanks a lot! I am still accepting more answers.
  13. There are requirements on some nursing colleges that I must have 2 credits / 2 years of a foreign language. Well I already know Spanish, considering I am of Hispanic heritage, do I still have to take a language class in my high school. I already know Spanish and I don't think I would want to learn French or German. Also a quick question on nursing school, is it possible to take an extra class of my choice? Like another foreign language (Portuguese) or WSG (Women, Sexuality, Gender Studies). Well thanks a lot guys!

Haha. I knew you were a guy, then I read the person who wrote "Country Gal", and I was like...I thought it was a guy? I just love my intuition!
  15. Hello! I am a new member of allnurses.com, I am a high school sophomore student who wants to become a CRNA. First of all, once I graduate from high school I will be going to a school to get my BSN, is there any program that will help pay for nusring school? Possibly a hospital that pays off the school as long as I work for them. Once I work at a hospital for 2 years, I hope to enter a school to become a CRNA!
