  1. I am graduating soon, and am starting the process of signing on for a job with a hospital. I just received my credentialing packet and found out that I will be charged a fee of $150 for credentialing. Is this common? I have never heard of paying an employer for credentialing. Thanks!
  2. Piper, I was in a situation similar to yours. I worked in a large SICU for just over a year, then moved to a level I trauma ICU, where I worked for almost 2 years. I still saw some swans, CVVHD, etc., but not as often as in SICU. I am currently in school, so it didn't hurt me. I think the important thing is that you got the knowledge foundation from the SICU.   4. I have worked in 2 ICU's, and both hired new grads (ADN or BSN). I definitely agree with biglum about not feeling adequately prepared with only one year of experience. I've been working in the ICU for 3 years, and am still amazed with how much I don't know. Good luck!
