How does prison nursing compare to med-surg & other hospital environments?
Although this sounds crazy you are safer working in a prison or jail than any hospital I have worked both for the past 5 years.

Physc NP program looking for people start with
Hello, Most of the Physc NP programs are online so I am looking for people to eventually start the program with. Maybe I should wait to start the program then network with people. However, I have found it easier if you have a good group of people to go in with together. Even if the people are in different states you can call, text and motivate each other. I am going to be starting sometime after February anyone interested in starting the program as well?

Online Rn to Bsn as schools as good as brick and mortar?
Most places do not care where you get your BSN as long as you have it.

Grand Canyon RN-BSN
GCU seems great the advisor said no tests just paper writing. Only one problem the cost is $16,000 the other places I am looking at are half the cost. I have yet to find an employer who says it matters where you get your BSN. So cost is a big factor for me.

CA nurse that made 260K which prison did she work at.
I want to start of thanking off the people who answered my questions. For the peopl like Orca who are being mean why would I get eaten alive I have worked at the supermax eyeman SMU1 it is where all the STG's go Aryan brotherhood mexican mafia etc Level 5 offenders. It might be a better idea to get to know people before making assumptions and saying you will get eaten alive. I have worked at all levels in all the prisons in AZ as well. Also not sure why a lot of people on this board get mad when you try and make money. I went into nursing to help people but to also be able to save for retirment and etc. Should I seek a job making eight dollars and hour to make people happy on this board? I am a single guy with no kids or wife so I would not mind working 70 hours a week. For the folks that are interested in correction it is hard work and you always have to be a where of your surroundings you cannot leave sharps out etc. You have to treat the inmates with respect but also not like they are at the Hilton hotel. I feel that corrections is a lot better place to work than a hospital for anyone who wants to check it out I would reccomended it best of luck stay positive and do not let anyone bring you down.

CA nurse that made 260K which prison did she work at.
Hi, Not sure if this question was answered in another forum which facility did the nurse Jean Keller who made 260K in a year work at. Which prison did she work at? Where is the prison located. Was she a state employee of the prison or registry or a CA Pool employee If these questions cannot be answered what part of CA pays the most in corrections Sandiego or Northern CA. Is there an agency anyone can reccomend I am currently a corrections nurse in AZ lots of bills to pay thought about relocating to CA so I can save up to do my BSN and eventually do some volunteer work as a nurse and not have to worry about money so much. Thanks much.

Hesi Complaint Phone number
Please do not flag this post I am not trying to be negative but realistic. I to want to pass and I am willing to work for anything. However the majority of my class this year and last year failed the Hesi the average score for both years was below passing. I personally did over 1,000 Nclex questions to prepare for this test I used the most expensive and popular books and studied what my teacher said to study to pass the exam and I still failed I am passing the class. The problem with this is exam is that the questions are worded in a way that you need a master's degree in physiology to pass. The questions do not test your critical thinking or help you save lives it is a terrible exam and needs to be overhauled. If you have the same concerns please call this number it is a Hesi hopefully they will do something about it. I know about 98% of my class feels the same way. Here is the Hesi complain number for evolve should get you in touch with the right people spread the word 800-950-2728.

Good study websites for BIO 201
Hello, I am a newbie. If I posted this question in the wrong forum I apologize. I am taking BIO 201 is there a good site I can test myself with questions. I am going over Tissues I cannot believe all the meomorization involved!!! I find certain chapters are almost total brutal memorization I learn best buy quizzes etc. I am already using the website that came with the book. http://www.myandp.com and http://www.anatomyandphysiology.com Also is there a place where I can download the testbanks? For those of you that are not familiar a test bank is where teachers usually download or get there tests from if they do not make up there own tests. This usually makes for a nightmare because the testbanks are not the same as what they teach in class. I am assuming it is not okay to download or find testbanks but it cannot hurt to ask. Thanks!!!

Hi, I called the Red Cross in my area to ask about the Certified nurses assistant program. They informed me it take about a month to get going full time. I live in Massachusetts is this correct? Does it normally take this long? I thought is was only a two week program any information would be great. Thanks, Jonathan.

LPN certification does it transfer from state to state.
Hello, I have a question if I become an LPN does the certification transfer from state to state. I once asked this about the RN program, however not about the LPN program. I live in Mass plan on going for my RN however when I am done I am planning on moving to AZ. Also, does anyone know how picky colleges are about accepting credits from another out of state? Thanks I do not know what I would do without this message board. Jonathan.

I thought the LPN program was under a year??
I have a question. I was looking to take the LPN program at a few places it's advertised as a program that takes under a year to complete(10 1/2 months). However today I recieved information in regards to the LPN program. It said the following under Admissions requirements. Graduates are required to work in a state operated healthcare facility for one year after graduation (I live in MA). I have the following questions. So is the LPN program really 1 year and 10 1/2 months, or just 10 ½ months or does this rule just apply to this school? 1) How long is the program in total is there a specific protocal/standard on length? 2) If the program turns out to take 10.5 for schooling and 1 year for clinical could I take the program in Mass (the 10.5 months), and then spend that one year working in another state like Arizona? I 3) Do you get paid for that one year or is it considered training.

Health carrers I can obtain in less than a year?
Hi, Does anyone know of any websites or list of health carrers you can get into in less than a year. For instance I know the LPN program takes 11 months and the CNA only takes 6 weeks to complete. If there are any other careers you can think about can you let me know. Thanks, Jonathan.
