Army Reserve OML FY2017
My recruiter is near awesome. We had both served in the infantry. after the Iraq draw down, he went to recruiting and i got out and got my RN/FNP. So I get weekly updates on the current status od the reserve 66p and mine. Currently the 10 selected army reserve 66p are still waiting on the scrolls. Part of this is due to looming government shutdown and prolly other hurry up and wait factors. There is still the same number of people on the OML as the beginning of the fiscal year. So to sum it up literally no change as of December. I am hoping someone got pregnant or cold feet. So i can come off the OML and not have to redo all my paperwork for october!

Army Reserve OML FY2017
Thats weird. I called my recruiter today and nothing has changed and that it is still waiting for results of the board at this time. I was literally on the phone with him as he was checking the results a few hours ago. I do not know how some can find out while others still don't know

Army Reserve OML FY2017
I dont think it needs congressional approval. If your packet made it to this board that happen at the beginning of the month, I think you need to just wait to see if your selected. If selected you go to meps retape/weight, get any other documentation that wasn't approved prior to board approved, and swear in. Some people have a truly complete packet when it hits the board others have a packet that is missing a document and selection is contingent on completing X document and the you swear in. Myself, if selected, I go to meps redo height weight, swear in, and its history from there!

I am also waiting the results of this board as a 66p. My packet process has been going on since January 2016. Hopefully i get selected. Recruiter told with me with work experience I have, I should get CPT which is a big difference from e-5!

Army Nurse Corp Reserves advice/input on experience 2016
66p filled up supposedly 10 slots for 47 people. So I have to wait on the merit list and more then likely next October. I have started the process of moving my completed application to the national guard since they have openings.

Army Nurse Corp Reserves advice/input on experience 2016
My packet missed the November board 2016 due to not processed fast enough even though I had everything well completed by Nov 1. I got approved as a nurse practitioner. I have 2 years as an np in the emergency room. I also have 6 years prior service in the infantry from 99-05 The process sucks. It's flawed and long. But welcome to the suck. Hurry up and wait is the life in the army. What can and will, will go wrong. I can only hope the board didn't fill up and close for this fiscal year. That would leave 2 options, non select or select with order of merit list. And if not selected by 1 year from now, you'll have to up date your packet and go back to the board next fiscal year.

Walden University has new FNP and AGNP Programs
I am currently in Waldens online FNP program that started in September. I was told we could precept with physicians and NP's in acute care or family practice setting. They said there main concern is exposure to the different age spans(Pedi, Adult, Elderly, etc). For anyone looking to go to Walden I haven't had a bad experience yet. My back ground is from the Millitary where I was enlisted Medic to a marine infantry company in very bad places. I got out and riding the wave of My GI bill which ends at my Masters From Walden as a FNP. Classes are to the point. A lot of it is discussion board participation based with assignments. All assignments passed in need to be backed up with reference material to justify any response. Assignments per course range from 3-5 and they have been all APA written papers so far, I'm in the 4th and 5th course. Full time is considered 2 courses. All courses count as 5 credits. Your allowed to take 2 courses at a time, they run 12 week semesters with no break in between. Instructors have all been super nice and very easy to contact and very flexible when it comes to technology errors. Feedback from assignments has been great and quick. All assignments are passed into Turnitin.com to be evaluated. If your looking for the, "Hey look where my degree is from" prestige social status thing, then its probably not the school for you. I suggest Georgetown or Umass. If your looking for an education where you can balance life, school, work, family etc... Its probably the school for you. I like the most efficent route to reach my goal. Being insanely hard and time consuming does not fit my lifestyle or learning needs. Walden provides me with a fast paced, balanced way to gain my FNP in 18 months full time.

University of Southern Alabama, looking for a review!
I am thinking about enrolling into either the online RN-BSN or RN-MSN(Acute care NP). Both paths are identical requirement wise. My question is for the people that have actually done their online program, either BSN or MSN. How hard is it? Is the workload extremly heavy? Do you find the instructors helpful? Would recommend the program to someone you know? Did you find it easy? I am looking for the fastest efficent route to get ideally get a MSN, easier the better for me hah! USA attratced me due to the fact the transition from the BSN to MSN requires nearly nothing but I have no been able to find any reviews on the program itself, only reviews on tuition costs. Tuition is not a problem for me since I served 6 years in the Army Unclse Sam foots the bill for school for another 39mths:) Thanks for your time.!

Passed on the 4th time
For whats it worth to anyone that was in the same boat as me I have taken the test 4 times. On all my attempts I had 265, 75, 265 and 265 questions for all my attempts. Passed on the 4th. Words of advice to those looking for advice like I did: -Dont give up hope and focus on the 25 meter target, the test, instead the 300meter target feeling like your disappointing everyone and yourself. -Stay motivated with studying do it everyday -Know what to study, what worked for me was doing about 6,000 practice questions. I get the best of both worlds of test taking and studying content through rationals.anywhere from 100-200 through out the day. Most I would do is 100 in a sitting. -Don't get aggravated or depressed its not fair to you or your family. -Did I mention do practice questions everyday. -Stay Disciplined with studying and think of the weight that will be liftewd off your shoulders when you pass! I wish everyone best of luck, if i can pass on my 4th anyone can pass this test.
