Has anyone been interviewed by the other floor nurses?
Thanks for the responses! I'm so nervous, especially since she said we would all three be interviewed together...

Has anyone been interviewed by the other floor nurses?
I had an interview yesterday and I believe it went really well, at the end of the interview the nurse manager told me she would call me back next week and the floor nurses would interview me and the other two candidates together and they would pick the best "fit".. I have never experienced this! Has this happened to anyone else? What should I expect/prepare for?

I got my pants and they were a little tight.. I returned them for the next size because I'm not really sure what we'll be doing in them and would rather be comfy...

OB Nurse Tribute
I am just about to start nursing school in January. I have 3 children and had HORRIBLE experiences with my first 2. I gave birth to my daughter last March, and had the most WONDERFUL experience my nurses name was Gail, and she was so wonderful, encouraging, and compassionate. She redeemed what had been altogether terrible in the past. I will always be gratefull for her kindness. I brought her a card and small gift when I left the hospital, but I really don't think I could ever put into words what a wonderful nurse she is.

FCCJ nights/weekends 2008
Yeah, I'm sure I'm probably incorrect, but it seems like nights and weekends has less class time.. I have three children, a boy 6, another boy just turned 4, and a little girl 7 months.. Maybe we can all exchange the creative ways we plan on studying with little ones around!

Yeah this is tough.. I think once you finish your first semester you have the option of being a PCT in a hospital. Does anyone know what the average rate of pay for an RN is in Jax? Also, I thought there would be unlimited OT when we were done, but some of the other posts make it seem like it's impossible to get OT.. Just curious about what we have to look forward to.

FCCJ Spring 2008
Well technically I'm not working, but I have 3 children 6,4,and 7 months. So finding time to study is challenging to say the least.. I figure I'll try to get a couple of hours of studying before they wake up then if they take a nap.. AHHH!!! I don't know!!! I don't do so well without ANY sleep which is what it sounds like it's gonna be! Heather

FCCJ Spring 2008
I went to Solantic, and the physical was 50, the tetorifice was 10 (I think), the tb test was 20, and it was 15 for them to draw blood for the titers. It came out to 95 dollars. Then the lab is gonna bill me seperate for the actual titers (I think thats 375), but the guy at Solantic said the lab will let you make payments. This whole thing is SOOO expensive!

FCCJ Spring 2008
I had them drawn last Thursday, so less than a week. I had the hep b done years ago and so they just did a titer. Honestly, I don't think I could have afforded to do it if I would've had to. I'm so nervous about starting now and managing everything but financially I really don't have a choice!
-
FCCJ Spring 2008
Ok, I'm just about done Yay!!! My titer's all came back pos. so no more shots. I think the only thing I have to do is my photo, and wait on financial aid (what a pain).. I can't wait until orientation!!!
