Congratulations! I am taking my NCLEX-PN in October. What all did you use to study? What would you recommend?

Saunders 4th Edition CD
Thank you so much. It really helped me reading that because I was really getting down!

Saunders 4th Edition CD
I did the assessment test first to see my weakest areas and I have been reading the chapters that the calender said and doing the questions at the end. I was really weak in pharm, but now it has improved almost 7%. I am doing a 100 questions a day though.

Saunders 4th Edition CD
I am not taking my boards until around late September or early October and I am also doing the Hurst Online Review and thinking about doing the Kaplan Q-bank trainers, but I did the assessment test yesterday for the Saunders 4th edition and I got a 56% and I am EXTREMELY getting discouraged. I looked at the calender they gave me and I started reading those chapters and doing the questions at end. I took a 100 question exam today and I got a 57%. I would look back on some of those questions that I missed and think HOW IN THE WORLD DID I MISS THAT? I am trying to stay positive and stay focused, but my anxiety levels are running high!

Hurst Live Review
Thanks so much. I am going to do it now thanks to everyone.

Hurst Live Review
Thank you. Did you take the Kaplan live review or did you use the book and Q-bank trainer?
-
Hurst Live Review
Did you take the Kaplan live review? I bought the book and going to take the Q-bank trainer when I graduate, but I was going to take Hurst live review because they are the only people who are coming close to me.

Hurst Live Review
I was just wanting to know if anyone has taken the Hurst Live Review and was wanting to know your opinion on it. Is the review for LPNs or RNs?

More NCLEX worries
I want to thank everyone for all of the comments made from when I asked about the NCLEX-PN, but I need more help. I took a NCLEX mock test for a review course and found out that I failed it. I got low in pharm and extremely low in vocabulary [i couldn't spell some of those words in the fill-in questions or I didn't know the answer]. We had a posttest and I passed it and they didn't go over the questions I missed. I am lost and very confused. I just feel that I cannot pass it and I have lost more faith. I graduate on August 4th and was planning to take the NCLEX-PN in late September or early October. They gave us a review book and I have been using it and I have done some of the Saunders. If I don't make a 75% in the Saunders on the tests in the book then I am re-reading the chapters. I do have Kaplan, but I was going to wait a month to read it before I took the test. I have been going over my pharm, mainly, by looking at the ending of the medications [for example, -caine, Lidocaine, local anesthetic]. I was just wondering if anyone had any tips that could help me or any books to recommend. I am going to buy the three week NCSBN before I take the test as well. I just want to thank everyone and this is such a wonderful website.

Nclex help
I know this question has been asked several times, but I just want to know the best books to study for the NCLEX. I will be graduating on August 4th and during my three week break [starts next week], I want to start studying. I have heard Kaplan is great because it teaches you how to answer the questions and that is what I need. Thank you for all your help and have a wonderful day!

I just want to make sure this is appropriate
thank you so much for your comments. i did not feel as if i was trying to get people to do my homework as well.!

I just want to make sure this is appropriate
My professor told me that he wanted me to do the questionnarie myself and get the results because it is a research paper of my own and he only wanted me to use the internet for average hourly wage and average annual wage.
-
I just want to make sure this is appropriate
No, it has nothing to do with homework. It's a questionnarie for my APA reseach paper in English Comp.

PLEASE! Feel free NOT to answer any of these questions that are too personal. It's just based on a questionnarie that I will be using for APA paper in English Composition which is called Nurses Salaries in America. 1. Was salary a major contirbution of why you went into nursing? 2. What was your starting salary? 3. How many years have you been a Registered Nurse? 4. What is your salary now? 5. What hospital/position do you work?

It's a questionnarie for my research paper on Registered Nurse salaries. For example, one of the questions is how long have you been a Registered Nurse and what was your starting salary. I have five questions, but if they're too personal then you don't have to answer them.

I am writing an APA paper on Nursing Salary and Beneifits, but before I would ask the questions on here...I want to make sure it is appropriate. Thanks!

A&p
I would study through the book, but he doesn't go by the book at all and when I try to find the information he has given us..I cannot find it in the book! I am going to start using flash cards because it seems that's what most people do and it works. I do use the coloring book because he requires us to use it. Thank you so much for your advice.

Thank you so much! Depending on how I did on my last two tests [i took them last week], I will seek a tutor.

A&p
When we took our first tests, I was studying between 6-7 hours a day and I figured that it may have been too much time focusing on it THAT much. We had our 2nd tests last week when I studied 2-4 hours a days and I do feel better about those two tests. During the first tests, I was sitting there in shock because I couldn't remember seeing any of that material so I knew that it wasn't a good sign and I left like 20 blank throughout the tests and I had to go back and pretty much guess. Thank you so much for the advice!

A&p
I was a straight A student through high school and I graduated last year. I'm taking A&P this year and on my first lab&lecture test I made a C. He only gives four lab & lecture tests. I am becoming very discouraged and thinking about changing my major. I study for 2-3 hours a day and he gives us over 30 pages of notes for one test. I really don't know what I'm doing wrong. If anyone has any studying tips or help, it would be greatly apperciated. Thank you!
