  1. I once had a confused pt. that yelled out all weekend. I kept telling her my Director's name all weekend and by Monday morning she was yelling her name. Everybody got a great laugh out of that one
  2. I had a Dr. one night write H2S04 dressing change bid. I couldn't figure this one out. I faxed it to pharm. and they said there is no such thing. Had several nurses that deal with this Dr. a lot come and look at it and they couldn't make sense of it either. I finally had to call him. He told me I just wrote for a Silvadine dressing change. I told him no you wrote H2S04. Wow did I? I took me 2 hrs of invesigation. Arrrghhhhh.
  3. I worked 7p-7a and had some student nurses working 3 to 11p two days a week. This older lady was one of my students and she had one of my pt's. The pt. was alert and oriented but npo and had a temp. I asked the student if she would give a suppository to the pt. She said ok sure. Ten minutes later she came out and told me that pt. got the suppos. down. I asked her what? she replied the lady had a hard time swallowing the suppos. I told her suppos. The student nodded yes. ( It was clear she wasn't getitng it). I said rectal and she gasped. I thought well it's just tylenol and glycerin. couldn't really hurt her but I told her to tell her instructor. I couldn't help but laugh at that one
