Yeah I applied to volunteer at PCH and they told me that they didnt need volunteers in the areas I expressed interest in, they also said they weren't in need on the times I told them I could volunteer... so I just submitted a request for Banner Gateway, figure a new hospital might need more volunteers... I havent heard anything back yet , but that was just last week that I submitted my application. Hopefully I'll hear something soon...

So what are you doing for the 9 months before they decide to train you?? That kinda sucks... It makes sense but still sucks. I dont have the time or money to do the all day everyday CNA training thing that most places offer, and all the CC's (that have next semester's schedules posted) are already full for spring semester's Nursing Assistant Courses...

So my best bet for an admitting clerk would be to just check around and see if any ER's are hiring.. that sounds like something I could do. I hope I can find something soon, I want something where I can "be a sponge" too!! Oh and multicollinearity, thanks for the good luck wish!! I need all the luck I can get!! :)

Hey happydays352, its ok to vent but don't get too down on yourself about it... the muscles are probably the hardest part of A&P... the worst is behind you, I think. I bombed my first Patho test... I scored almost 20 pts less than the class avg so I felt like screaming when I knew I was the only one who did bad:(

yeah i felt like i walked away knowing what I needed too as well... I am glad that they were helpful to you as well. I wonder if we had the same instructor?? Was your's an african american guy that sat on the desk the whole time and kinda told crazy stories.. LOL

Well I have already taken HCC 130 and 144AA at scc like a year ago, so I might look into PC.. Thanks for all the info!! Oh and missrisa77, how did you go abouts getting the job that you have?? I just really need to experience all this stuff first hand!! But I feel like I have nothing to offer any of the local hospitals

Thank you!! I need luck, I have been looking for so long!! And yeah I heard today that some hopsital/nursing homes pay for your training to become a CNA, I would love to train in plebotomy as well. Have you taken any of these courses?? Do you know how much it runs to take the pleb class at PC??

ok so i am just twiddling my thumbs waiting to get into asu's professional nursing program, so i was wondering if anyone knew of some good jobs to have that are medical field related but dont really require any clinical experience. i was thinking something like a doctor's office or something... but anyone doing a job like that with any suggestions on how to go about getting a job like that ?? i am tired of doing auto loan approvals for my job:uhoh3:

You're very welcome!! Yeah I did my CPR class through them, our instructor was kinda a nut job though LOL. But I felt like I walked away knowing what to do. Oh and when I got my fingerprint card I only paid $46 because I was told since it was for clinicals we would pay "volunteer" prices.

Wow!!! I am at Arizona State and we can apply twice a year, but it is so competitive here. The lowest GPA they took last semester was a 3.8, they have about 300-400 applicants a semester and only 150 seats. So then what do you do for 2 years?? Just wait? Do you have to be enrolled in classes for the full 2 years while you're waiting?

The Police department isnt the only place, I got mine done at a place called heartsavers on (I think) country-club and brown in mesa, but they have different locations and I think I only paid like 7 dollars, but you have to have your packet already and take it in with you. They have a website so just type heartsavers into google, Im sure it'll come up.
