  1. Oh, the administrator who is my friend went out of town and the company nurse coordinator fired me WITH her complete knowledge. Just goes to show you, NEVER trust anyone
  2. I was a professional artist and much happier!
  3. I need a spot that I will fit. I graduated at 51- look about 41, but when i go for the interview i get "the look". They never call back. am i just too old?
  4. I would quit in a minute but I keep getting "let go"!!!! First job, surgery- they told me i didn't "fit in", second was DON in LTC, told me they didn't have time to train. I loved the residents and the staff but the nurse coordinator and administrators were big fat liars. I'm gonna stay but just because i worked so hard to get my license
  5. I was failed, too, once. Go to a different school if you need to. come to indiana! Get a study partner and learn how to answer nursing questions by buying some NCLEX study guides. they are most helpful! good luck!
  6. Run Far Away And Don"t Look Back!!!!!!!!!
  7. I started as new DON 6 weeks ago and my company has made me come up with reasons to terminate over 10 people. They don't want to pay unemployment! The staff cringes when I come near. I am a very nice person and this is making me sick. I would quit, but my administrator is also a friend, and my husband is so proud of me for landing a job where the $$$$ are great!
  8. i, too have just become don for ltc. i have only been there 6 weeks and have been made to fire at least 10 people, i have actually lost count. i still have not had any time to learn the job as i am on the floor nearly all the time trying to hold it together. i work 10 -16 hour days without overtime i might add, while all other staff leaves at end of shift. my administrator is super but she is also up to her eyeballs in crap. i am so tired that i could die. the money is great but is this really worth it?
