  1. Where is Methodist Southeast located?
  2. externship programs are the same as psne (professional nursing student extern)
  3. No finding a job wasnt easy..there's a BIG hiring freeze around the medical center but NS doesn't tell you that, you just have to be persistent and prayerful and it eventually will come. As for PV preparing me..yes and no..i'm learning more through on the job training and i'm still learning how to be a proficient nurse. Best advice i can give you, when you get into semester 3 start applying for the psne programs the hospitals have..it will make getting a job easy down the line.
  4. Hey I just wanted to say congrats on starting NS, im a pv grad. Good luck on semester1.

Hi I was wondering Kindred ltac is it better to walk in and go to their HR department or to look online and apply.
  6. @shah thanks for the tip i graduated last year and have been looking for work. I've applied to kindred before but havent gotten a reply from them. If they are hiring do you suggest going in and talking to the HR department or applying online at open positions? Thanks
  7. @Miss Kisha if you dont mind me asking how was the MH job fair? I went to the one the had a couple of months ago and i was told i needed hospital experience of atleast 2yrs before they considered me, and i'm just starting a homehealth job now. I wanted to attend saturdays but i couldn't. I haven't heard from Cypress.

alittle of topic but i was wondering did you go to their human resources office to apply or it was online, i was just wondering cuz i've been hearing memorial hermann has hired alot of RN's lately. thanks
  9. what april31099 posted was what i used when studying isolation. it really helped because nclex throws out a lot of isolation and infection control questions at you. also the cdc website was also of help. good luck to you on your exam
  10. i know how you feel i graduated with a bsn in december passed boards in feb and have been looking for work too. i've applied to ltc, home health, nursing homes and not just hospitals too. I'm just praying to God for the call backs to start rolling in. Hang in there something will definitely come.

Kaplan for the live class review, qbank and qtrainer it was $499, not sure how much qbank is . what does the 299 entail?
  13. I used kaplan/hurst/saunders to study 4 nclex. i used Saunders mostly for content, electrolytes, disease processes. I have nclex 3500 and nclex 4000 through school and i found 4000 more difficult than 3500 in answering the questions. Content is content no matter what u are using for it, with questions i found out that kaplans questions are really similar to what u see on nclex. i didn't feel i was strong in content so i read content then went and did questions and read the rationales. And you are right it is time consuming.
  14. Hi to those that used the videos lectures online on the Kaplan site, i'm wondering did you guys follow along with the RN course book or just listened to the lectures?
  15. what type of medical terms are we talking about?
