  1. Oh yeah definitely! Almost every one I've heard from directly or indirectly says its about putting in the work not brilliance. Like medical school-- being extremely bright helps but is every doctor you know a genius? At least this is what I keep telling myself to keep me from freaking out!:lol2:
  2. No nothing. I keep checking the "my account" page and no changes at all. I'm calling them tomorrow.
  3. Hey has anyone heard anything from Columbia Re: Orientation or financial aid follow up?
  4. I called them and they emailed me the letter with some forms. They're due 3/15 so call them soon!
  5. Hey does that apply to financial aid too? they told me 2 weeks after acceptance my FA letter would come.
  6. OMG!!! That's awesome that they let you know so early! Yeah! I am so happy for you both! :anpom::anpom::rckn::hpygrp:
  7. it is supposed to. They said that they only had room for 32 including ETP I guess they got more clinical spots.
  8. I believe 32 is what they said at the interview. Feb 6 is the deadline to respond so hopefully the list moves along from the declines and I will see you in May BEST BEST of luck to you both! :plsebeg:
  9. Who else is going to Columbia in May?
  10. Any one heard from them yet?
  11. OMG! Just crazy! Actually I think I am going to accept Columbia esp if I can get the fa to work out. where else are u waiting on?
  12. That sucks about Penn. The students were all about saying I don't know if you don't know in the interview. Many of them said that they were surprised that they had been accepted considering how much they did not know in the interview. If you were able to answer ALL their questions and have grades good enough for an interview there and at Penn I think you're in. I have not accepted an offer yet. I want to see how it all pans out first. The waiting is killing me since I interviewed on 1/16.
  13. You're welcome! How do you feel you did? No I don't know anyone in the program except the students that I met that day. They seem to like it. It seems like a really good group I didn't get that same cohesiveness feeling at Columbia but maybe it was just the people that they chose. I was impressed by the program though!
  14. Don't know if you are still intersted in this but they have a program with a presentation first and while you wait for your interview you get to hang out with the students and ask them about the program. When your turn comes you are in a room with a panel. They ask clinical and regular why are you doing this type questions. When are you going?
  15. Hi I'm new in the SICU I would love some help organizing my time. OWuld you mind emailing them to me also? Thanks
  16. pasero replied to MelanieM's topic in New York Nursing
Hey how did the interview go? Did you take the job? Did you end up getting any info on the residency? I'm really interested in NYU so I would love to find out pasero:uhoh21:
  17. That does put it in perspective--thanks!!!
  18. thanks I've never heard that before "By the yard it's hard, but by the inch it's a cinch." I love it. that sounds like an excellent plan! Thanks for sharing.
  19. Thanks for getting backing to me cherricka. So really just qestions no content reveiw? How many did you end up doing? which ones? Sorry to be such a nerd but I'm nervous.
  20. OK I have the saunders book been using it throughout school. I also have a ton of cds including kaplan. trouble is I have no clue what to do from here. the amount of material is sooooo daunting That I am having trouble formulating a plan . PLEASE PLEASE can some one offer some advise on how to study from here? Those of you who did it on your own (w/o a class) how did you organize your studying? I am normally good at organizing my studying but I am having a really hard time figuring how to review nursing school!! Please help!
  21. I've been using an old edition of Saunders (1999) all through nursing school and plan to use it as my primary study tool for nclex. however I notice that the other editions that have come out are thinner than mine. i know that now she includes the new format questions in the newer books but I wonder has the content been streamlined? According to Amazon there is a 200 page difference between mine and the blue one. Is it worth it for me to buy the new one? Also How do you guys reccomend that I use the cd from the saunders q&a book? :uhoh21: thanks
  22. forgive my ignorance but what does that mean " icon w/ a light bulb" Also is the strategy to do 100 questions per day in the book or on the cd? Sorry if this dumb but I am starting to formulate my study plan and so far I don't realy know anything!:imbar thanks
