  1. Try to just relax, I haven't slept since I took the test! It's not a pretty sight! My face is terribly broken out! I'm a big mess! If I didn't pass my boards, I was going to be thrown off orientation and back on the floor as a CNA w/ a pay cut! No pressure right?!?!?! I'm finally going to walmart now to print out my graduation pictures, I wouldn't get them developed until I passed. I figured, what good is my degree if I didn't have a license! I wonder y some states don't participate in quick results? Thats horrible? I know CA doesn't. Luckily MD does. My friend is a CRNP and she said she had to wait 6 painful weeks. I probably wouldn't have made it. omg! Well, have a marvelous weekend! CHIN UP!!!!!!
  2. You can't get the ATT until 45 days have passed but in my experience, go ahead and pay your state board of nursing for registration and pay pearson vue so that all you are waiting on is the e-mail with your ATT. You will be a nurse! It will happen for you, please contact me if you need anything at all. :heartbeat:redbeathe
  3. You passed Prettyang! You will see, pearson vue trick worked for all my 65 classmates and myself-both times. Start your celebrating now
  4. :yeah:so, the trick worked again for me! 2nd attempt and i finally passsed-just tested 12-10. what a lovely test it is, my gosh! i know we are supposed to be safe and everything but it's pure torture. i checked pearson vue quick results today-paid my 7.95 and almost hit the roof when i saw the word "pass". really??? couldn't i get a congratulations or something out of the deal! omg! i swear, i'm the most expensive nurse @ my work- 3 scheduled tests (900$)+kaplan (600$) and countless nclex books! my poor, poor credit card! this time i studied differently, i did all kaplan qbank (tutor mode) and when i got a question wrong-or right if i guessed i would write down the rationale in a book-i did it for all of the qbank questions! my notebook was very long, i reviewed that and i skimmed through kaplan's book and read over saunders comp review (very, very helpful for me). if anyone needs any help or wants to talk, e-mail me! good luck to all the test-takers, retakers, and ones currently waiting! there is light at the end of the tunnel! :redbeathe mod note, please do not post email addresses as per terms of service
  5. Still waiting, from what I hear from my classmates-the quick results won't be available until tomorrow/same with it being posted on the board of nursings site. I'm in MD and quick results posts at the same time as the board of nursing! GOSH! Such anticipation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need a xanax, lol
  6. Thank you.... We lost our daughter on 9-6-09 and I am just now able to talk about it with others... I took my nclex yesterday so cheer me on! haha! After 6 months of being postponed, it's about time I get the show on the road, have a wonderful holiday
  7. Kaplan was helpful, the questions were great. Based on the whole "application" level. I used saunders as well but the questions were mainly on "analysis" level. Questions, questions, and more questions is all you can do. Whew!
  8. I just took the beautiful NCLEX (my second time!) and I tried the pearson vue trick the first time...took me all the way to the CC screen. This time I am getting the pop up- Hoping that means I pass but I doubt it will be posted online until tomorrow-it certainly takes a weight off my shoulders (I can't even sleep!!!!). I swear, it's a horrible wait and I totally empathize for those who are waiting with me! I wonder if Dr.'s and Lawyers and even CPA's have to wait as long as poor nurses! Like school wasn't fun enough, lol. :redbeathe
  9. My heart definently goes out to OB nurses. I am a recent RN grad, an NOT in the OB field @ all! I dreaded my OB rotation, it was horrible to me...I remember the first day on the floor, as soon as I was brought through the double doors, hearing a woman screaming (in pain!!!). I thought to myself, oh lord! Help me through this rotation...In my school we had the luxury of 2 rotations on the OB floor (normal and abnormal preg in final yr). Long story short...please don't laugh! So my patient wanted an epidural- everything was all ready, anesthesiologist (sp?) at bedside and asked me to stay with him to observe...Yippie!! How bad could be be, right? WRONG! I passed out (never have had a problem with any other procedure before!) and before I knew it, the nurses had the smelling salts out and orange juice to my mouth! lol...Why me, how embarassing right? Well, I truly have an extra love for OB nurses, I know it's such a trying role...I recently lost my 1st baby at 25 weeks, the nurses were so sympathetic and caring. I knew from school what to expect (which made everything worse!) but they made everything so special and meaningful to me and my husband. It's such a hard thing to do and I feel that no matter how many times the RN's see a loss, it never gets better for them. My nurse actually cried with me, which is so awesome to me that she cared that much. On a medsurg floor, its unlikely that would occur b/c they are so slammed with patients that you don't often have time to sit and think. :redbeatheTHANK YOU TO ALL THE WONDERFUL OB NURSES, YOU ALL SHOULD BE SO PROUD OF YOURSELVES! :redbeathe
  10. Good luck to you on the NCLEX, You can do it :)
  11. That is a great gift! I heard that the Doctors ask the techs and nurses a lot at the hospital to borrow their steth's and forget to return them. However, it has NOT happened to me! I just used one of the patients id bands and wrote my name and fastened it to my stethescope and I have on of the other fancy tags from a uniform store on their aswell! In school we are not allowed to wear them around our neck so they are easily misplaced!
  12. I applied to AACC, Deltech and MGW/Ches College and I got into Ches College's. Mainly b/c I am a resident of Tal County. I had a 3.8 and was told since I was not a AA Co. resident that the res's got 1st priority, which is understandable! A girl who was in the 1st year with me at MGW failed out and applied to AACC (she is a res of AA county) and they told her that their was a wait till 2010 for clinicals! That is very hard to believe! I hear that AACC program is great though!
  13. I work for a LTC facility while I am in nsg school and get paid about 17.50 per hour. I don't accept my benefits, or holiday pay and I work 16 hr shifts on Sat's which counts for a weekend differential pay. It really works out for me! I can go to school all week, work on the weekends and make enough $ to cover my bills! I learn a lot at the nursing home, however I would recommend starting out as a tech at the hospital! I personally learned more in that fast pace setting! GOod luck!
